Jenny McCarthy Opens Up About Boyfriend Jim Carrey

Jenny McCarthy loves boyfriend Jim Carrey for several reasons – but especially because he loves her.
"There are so many things," the actress, 35, told PEOPLE in Los Angeles Wednesday night at the Grey Goose-sponsored party for Chelsea Handler's new book, Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea.
For starters, she cited Carrey's "capacity to love and to take on something that most men would completely run away from."
McCarthy, who revealed her 5-year-old son Evan's condition nearly a year ago on The View and published a book about their experiences, Louder Than Words: A Mother's Journey in Healing Autism, said of Carrey, 46: "He could have any 20-year-old perfect girl with perfect breasts, and he stays. He has really opened his heart and his life to us. I'll forever be grateful."

Oprah Winfrey's self-help Web chats with author Eckhart Tolle are now drawing some celeb guests: Jenny McCarthy showed up this week to talk about her relationship with 5-year-old son Evan.
McCarthy, who spoke to PEOPLE last year about her struggles with her son's autism, discussed Tolle's book, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, which Oprah picked as her latest Book Club selection. (Winfrey liked it so much she launched a 10-week Web "class" around it.)
"I read this book when it first came out and this was one of my big wake-up calls," says McCarthy, who spoke about the need to simply "be" with him – and whether that was enough to be a good mom. (See the rest in the video above.)

Oprah Winfrey is bringing Jenny McCarthy to the land of Skype and self-help on Monday night.
The talk-show queen, who's been hosting a special, 10-week live Web class based on author Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose, is having the actress as a guest for Monday night's session, which features discussions with Tolle, Winfrey and questions from audience members via Skype.

Jim Carrey on Jenny's Son: He Thinks I'm Cool

Jim Carrey has been scoring points with Jenny McCarthy's 5-year-old son, Evan – with his role as the voice of the lead character in Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who.
"I think he thinks I'm pretty cool anyway," Carrey, 46, told PEOPLE on the red carpet at the movie's Los Angeles premiere over the weekend. "It's pretty great. I've been reading [How the Grinch Stole Christmas] to him forever, and he wasn't aware that I was actually the Grinch" – Carrey's role in the 2002 movie.
But Evan has figured out Carrey's latest role, in Horton. "This one he clued into. We took a walk around today, and he said, 'You know, you're Horton. You're in the movie. You did the voice.' As if I needed to know that information," said Carrey, who also brought his daughter Jane, 20, to the premiere. "It was cool."

Jim Carrey's (Sort of) Romantic Valentine's Day with Jenny

Forget roses and a romantic dinner. Jim Carrey had another Valentine's Day plan for girlfriend Jenny McCarthy. "We're just gonna go everywhere she ever existed – you know, where she had her first kiss," the comedian says on an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show set to air Monday.
In McCarthy's hometown of Chicago for the taping, the comedian, 46, said: "[We're going to] see all those places that were near and dear to her and I'm gonna put my scent all over them ... I'll say, 'Oh, gee, is that where you had your first kiss with Tony Lobianco?'"
So, what did Carrey – who appeared on the show with his Horton Hears a Who! castmates Steve Carell and Carol Burnett – give his girlfriend, 35, for Valentine's Day?
"I did a painting for Jenny and it took me 50 hours," he told the talk-show host. Asked Oprah: "What do you paint?" "Mostly nudes," Carrey replied. "Just certain sections of the anatomy – and I give them names."

For years Jenny McCarthy promoted herself as an uninhibited good-time girl – Playboy Playmate, raunchy comic actress, author of frankly funny books on pregnancy and motherhood. But she was just another terrified mom in 2004 when her son Evan, then 2 1/2, suffered a series of life-threatening seizures – and was eventually diagnosed with autism. "Holding my convulsing baby as he tried to breathe," recalls McCarthy, 34. "From that day on, I was not who I was before."
