It's not the first honeymoon phase for either Donnie Wahlberg or Jenny McCarthy, but Wahlberg can feel that, this time, this marriage is built to last.
"We've both been married before, but we weren't ready for that," Wahlberg, 45, tells PEOPLE. "I think we got in before we were prepared to, and now we've finally found what we've always wanted."
A year after they began dating, the duo exchanged vows in August at the historic Hotel Baker in St. Charles, Illinois, outside McCarthy's hometown of Chicago.

[BRIGHTCOVE "3989630163001" "" "" "auto"] Donnie Loves Jenny is airing its second episode on Tuesday, and we're already seeing the newlyweds in bed.
Not like that.
In an exclusive clip obtained by PEOPLE, we see Donnie Wahlberg try to rouse wife Jenny McCarthy from slumber, with little success. Having gotten into bed at 4 a.m. after working all night, McCarthy, 42, is not up to getting out of bed to get her son Evan, 12, ready for school.
When Wahlberg, 45, offers to do the job for her, she's (sleepily, groggily) hesitant despite her husband's assurance that he's "been a dad for 21 years" and that he "know[s] how to get a kid ready for school in the morning."

[BRIGHTCOVE "3974499904001" "" "" "auto"] Only Jenny McCarthy would quip about the time she "closed down [her] uterus" in a toast to her new husband, Donnie Wahlberg, at her own wedding reception.
In an exclusive sneak peek at the premiere of A&E's Donnie Loves Jenny, you can watch McCarthy, 42, share with the guests of her Aug. 31 wedding how "honored" she is to be married to Wahlberg, 45.
"As a little girl, you dream of Prince Charming, and you always get disappointed because no one meets the expectations," she says, "but he has surpassed it by far. He has been so kind and open."

Because no Hollywood marriage is truly complete unless it plays out on TV, Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg have decided to start a reality series of their own.
A&E has ordered 10 episodes of Donnie Loves Jenny, a new chapter in the cable network's love affair with the Wahlberg clan that began with this year's Wahlburgers, which focuses on the family's restaurant in Boston. This iteration will follow the newlyweds from the moment they got hitched Aug. 31 to whatever played out in their subsequent days of bliss.

Look who's still in the honeymoon phase!
Jenny McCarthy's still as smitten as ever when it comes to husband Donnie Wahlberg.
"Every night when we go to bed and I climb in bed and I see him laying there, I go, 'The feeling I get crawling in bed with you every night is like when I was little and my mom used to say your best friend can sleep over tonight,' " McCarthy told PEOPLE in N.Y.C. Thursday while promoting her upcoming SiriusXM show, Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy. "He definitely brings out the best in me, and I think I do the same for him."
"Is she talking about our dog?" joked Wahlberg.
