Vincent Kartheiser Practiced Proposing to Alexis Bledel with Mad Men Costars

Like any good actor, Vincent Kartheiser knows the importance of the rehearsal process.

Before popping the question to girlfriend Alexis Bledel, the Mad Men actor (who plays Pete Campbell) jokingly practiced his proposal on set with costars Elisabeth Moss and Jessica Paré.

"It was purely comedic but he was giving [Elisabeth] and I a facetious rendition of his planned proposal," Paré told PEOPLE at the season 6 premiere of the hit AMC show Wednesday night. "We were like, 'Great! Lets do this one without cursing and without yelling!' "

All joking aside, Kartheiser's costars could not be happier to hear the news of the engagement to Bledel, who plays Beth Dawes on series, which returns to AMC April 7 (9 p.m. ET).

Most of the country may be cooling off as fall creeps towards winter, but the sun is shining in Hawaii!

And that's where Jon Hamm and his Mad Men wife, beauty Jessica Paré, were filming scenes Wednesday for the season 6 premiere of AMC's hit show.

Leaving his buttoned-up business attire on the mainland (but without a hair out of place), Hamm, 41, disrobed and revealed a pair of colorful trunks – and a tan line.

Jessica Paré appeared only at the end of Mad Men's fourth season as Megan, but her character certainly kept busy in the hiatus, marrying Jon Hamm's Don Draper.

By the end of the season 5 premiere, the Canadian actress had created a sensation – on TV and on the Internet.

Clad in a black mini-dress, the sexy Paré, 29, belted out a killer performance of "Zou Bisou Bisou" for Don's birthday in an episode of AMC's hit show. Suddenly, Google lit up with searches for the French song.
