Jessica Simpson Calls Melrose Place 'Crap'

Guess Jessica Simpson isn't a Melrose Place fan – at least not anymore!

After the recent news that her sister, Ashlee, had been cut from the CW drama, the singer blasted the show on her official Twitter page. "CW catching up on MP," Simpson Tweeted on Sunday night. "Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this? thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press."

For her part, Simpson-Wentz was more measured when discussing her character's fate.

"Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill," she said in a statement. "Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity."

In a recent poll, 67 percent of PEOPLE.com readers said they wouldn't miss Simpson-Wentz on the TV show.

When it comes to finding the right man, Jessica Simpson wants it all.

The singer, who has been somewhat unlucky in love, tells Extra, "I definitely love a spiritual man – somebody that is going to always inspire me."

Simpson, who split from football player Tony Romo in July and who also had a on-again, off-again romance with Hollywood ladies' man John Mayer, doesn't stop there.

"I don't want to get bored," says Simpson, 29. "I can bore out pretty easily, so I love intellectual men ... people that will always keep me intrigued."

And what else? "I love artistic men – somebody that really understands their art," says Simpson, who was once married to Nick Lachey. Adds the star, "I like a confident man."

Call it a definite foul.

After a less-than-sensitive cartoon commercial that mercilessly mocked Jessica Simpson during FOX's NFL Sunday last week, the network and Burger King apologized for the ad.

"Burger King did not have any editorial input in the creation of the animation that ran last Sunday, and no one from Burger King Corp., approved it before it aired,” FOX said in a statement. "Upon reflection, our poor attempt at humor was insensitive, and we deeply apologize to anyone who might have been offended."

Jessica Simpson's Coyote Nightmare: Common and Preventable

Originally posted 09/17/2009 06:05PM

While the recent coyote attack on Jessica Simpson's maltipoo Daisy is devastating, unfortunately, it's a situation that's all too common. Ozzy Osbourne, Halle Berry and a host of other celebs have seen their pups snatched by the wolf-like animals, right from their own backyards.

"Los Angeles has had coyotes for a long time," Dr. John Hadidian, Director of Urban Wildlife Programs at the Humane Society of the United States tells PEOPLE Pets. "They have a more established population there."

It's wise for anyone living in the L.A. area to be warned: Given its sheer size, along with its varying climates and landscapes, California in particular offers a good habitat for coyotes. But the animals can be found all over the country – and even move into urban areas when they're frantically looking for food.

"If there's been a drought or a fire, those are factors that give the coyote not much to eat in their natural habitat, and they have to look elsewhere," says Animal Planet zoologist Dave Salmoni. "That's when you find them coming to areas with people."
