Jewel sure knows how to pull off a hush-hush wedding.
Without family, friends (or paparazzi!) knowing, the singer and rodeo star Ty Murray eloped to the Bahamas on Aug. 7. "To pull off the wedding quietly made it magical," Jewel told PEOPLE the following day.
Held at The Cove Atlantis resort in the Bahamas, the very private affair included just two guests: Jewel's former keyboard player Jason Freese, who officiated (the couple found out he had been ordained online) and his wife Amy.

Jewel's a newlywed.
The singer and her longtime boyfriend, rodeo champion Ty Murray, eloped to the Bahamas and exchanged vows in a private ceremony Thursday night, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. The wedding took place at The Cove Atlantis.
"She wore a traditional wedding gown, while Ty wore his favorite blue jeans, white shirt and cowboy hat," says Jewel's rep. "The couple is very happy and look forward to enjoying their honeymoon."
The pair, who never announced an engagement, have been together for ten years and share a 2,200-acre ranch in Stephenville, Texas. Murray, 38, who hosted Ty Murray's Celebrity Bull-Riding Challenge on CMT last year, currently stars in the video for his wife's new country single, "I Do."

Jewel, who has teamed up with Mary Kay as a spokesperson for their "A Kiss for Country" initiative to eliminate domestic violence, puckered up Tuesday, leaving lip prints and an autograph to be auctioned for the charity.
"It's a topic that's close to my heart. I was homeless for a year and saw first hand how sometimes the streets can be safer than what's at home," Jewel said during an event at the Morning Star Sanctuary domestic violence shelter near Nashville to promote the initiative.
As for her life now, Jewel says it's a far cry from her days on the streets. "We have a pretty normal life at least what's normal to me having grown up on a ranch," she says of the working Texas ranch she shares with longtime boyfriend Ty Murray.

"Stronger Woman," her first single off the album (co-produced by John Rich of Big & Rich) is already a country hit, currently at No. 15 on the Billboard country chart.
