Don't believe everything you hear celebrities say on talk shows. Particularly if that celebrity is Joaquin Phoenix.
The actor, 40, whose infamously dazed (though staged) appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2009 is the stuff of late-night legend (in the end, it was all a hoax for his 2010 mockumentary I'm Still Here), admits he lies on talk shows all the time.
"Everybody lies on talk shows," he said Tuesday in an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The story of four siblings working to raise their children right and keep their sanity at the same time, this movie was (and still is) relatable to moms and dads of all generations. Since its release, Parenthood has gone on to inspire two different TV shows, and it serves as an adorable archive of big stars in their early years. In fact, one of Bryce Dallas Howard's first on-screen roles was an uncredited bit in her dad's ensemble comedy.
What about the other billed stars of Parenthood? Sadly, not all the actors are still with us today. Jason Robards, who played Parenthood's patriarch Frank, passed away in 2000, but most of the Buckman clan is still working in showbiz.
To celebrate the film's 25th anniversary, we put together a family reunion to see what Parenthood's main players are up to right now.

Imagine for a second that the movie Her took place not in the near future, but in 1995.
The pants would be acid-washed jeans, instead of high-waisted trousers. Joaquin Phoenix's facial hair would be more like a soul patch than an immaculate mustache. And instead of falling in love with a digital assistant voiced by Scarlett Johansson, Phoenix's Theodore Twombly would have fallen in love with Clippy, the Microsoft Office paper clip.

Let's hope it's performance art, and not a psychological problem.
