John Mayer Tweets About Britney Spears Lip-Sync Scandal

John Mayer has wandered into the controversy plaguing Britney Spears in Australia, where critics in the media have blasted her for lip-synching on her "Circus" tour.
On Saturday, Mayer, who happens to be Down Under to promote his own album, Tweeted the following: "If you're shocked that Britney was lip-syncing at her concert and want your money back, life may continue to be hard for you."
Why all the fuss?
On Friday, about 100 angry fans reportedly stormed out of Britney's concert at the Burswood Dome in the Western Australia city of Perth, saying they were disappointed by the lackluster performance and Spears's lip-synching during her two-hour show. Spears gave Perth fans a generic welcome, never mentioning their city by name. "What's up Australia?," she said from the stage. "How you feeling tonight? It's so good to be here tonight. Your country is beautiful."

The singer arrived with five guys and a female friend, along with his brother, Carl, and the group was "drinking buckets of Coronas," a source tells us. Mayer was also taking tequila shots, the source says, adding, "John was bring goofy and chatting with other customers."

Sure John Mayer is Twitter obsessed, but that doesn't mean he can't see why somebody else would want off the social network.
Last week Miley Cyrus, deleted her Twitter account citing a desire to keep her "private life private" and stating in her last Tweet that rumored beau Liam Hemsworth wanted her to delete her account.
"She's smart enough to realize there is some interference of the brain that she doesn't want to deal with," Mayer, who just celebrated his 32nd birthday, told MTV. "I think if you're in Miley's situation, it might take a little too much time to play goalie for your own heart and mind."

It's not the first time Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer have reunited after a split, but the couple are simply "enjoying their friendship," says a source close to the singer. "They've been talking for a while – they're very friendly."
Adds another source, "They've remained close."
The duo recently spent a night together late last month at New York City's Bowery Hotel. "Jen was there on the arm of John and they were all very lovey," says an onlooker. "She was in casual clothing as was he, and she seemed very comfortable around his crowd of friends."

Put the old rumors to rest, finally: Kristin Cavallari definitely isn't dating John Mayer.
In fact, Cavallari – who says she met the singer once for five minutes – now says Mayer asked her out, but that she shot him down.
"I didn't want to be another notch on his belt," Cavallari, 22, told Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM Tuesday.

Ignore the rampant rumors that John Mayer has had a secret on-again, off-again affair with Kristin Cavallari for the last two years – they're all false, the musician said in a series of Twitter posts Wednesday.
"I'm sure she's a wonderful gal but we have never tasted the Skittles Rainbow together," Mayer, no stranger to romance rumors, wrote.
Then, just in case readers didn't get what he was saying, he added: "My Milli has never slam danced with her Vanilli" and "I have never Bensoned her Hedges, nor have I attempted to Bartle her James."
For her part, the new star of The Hills has long said she's single and not looking for a boyfriend.

Jessica Simpson hit the town in Hollywood Saturday night, dining at hotspot Katsuya with friends – including sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz – but one person was not there: Her ex John Mayer.
Contrary to reports circulating online that Mayer met up with Simpson at the restaurant, a source tells PEOPLE he was never there Saturday. Instead, Mayer showed up at Katsuya on Sunday and had a guys' night out.
Mayer and his three buddies drank whiskey neat and enjoyed crispy rice, spicy tuna, edamame and yellowtail with jalapeno, according to the source.

First, Nick Lachey told PEOPLE there was very little truth to reports he might get back together with his newly single ex-wife, Jessica Simpson.
Now comes bad news for fans hoping Simpson’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer will heal her broken heart.
"Absolutely not," Mayer's pal Rob Dyrdek, 35, star of MTV's Fantasy Factory, told PEOPLE Monday at Ryan Scheckler's X Games Celebrity Skins Classic" in Coto De Caza, Calif.
Mayer and Simpson dated on-and-off for about a year before splitting in 2007. Dyrdek says he "wouldn't rule out" a reunion, but adds, "I'm just saying [I don't think so]."
