Jon Gosselin admits he was "nervous" when he began waiting tables at the Black Dog restaurant in Beckersville, Pa.
Just a few years ago, he'd been on top of the world, starring in the top-rated TLC reality show, Jon & Kate Plus 8 and co-writing a New York Times bestseller, but a messy divorce in 2009 ended all that.
While his ex-wife Kate and their eight kids remained in the couple's $1.3 million Pennsylvania home, he moved out, and admits in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight that it's been "next to near impossible to find work."

Reality TV star Kate Gosselin has filed a lawsuit accusing her ex-husband Jon of stealing her hard drive and hacking into her phone and computer to get material for a tell-all book.
The federal lawsuit says he took the material for a book called Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World.
The suit, filed Monday in Philadelphia, says the book was written by her ex-husband's friend, writer Robert Hoffman, but has since been pulled from Amazon because the material was obtained illegally.

While Kate Gosselin is still adjusting to life away from the TV cameras, her former costar – and former husband – Jon Gosselin is quite happy outside the spotlight. Living in a small cabin roughly 30-minutes away from the house Kate shares with the kids, Jon is still miles away from the kind of adventure-packed life he used to have.
"It's more rural, more of a farm community," he says of his home now. As for his activities with his kids, whom he sees once during the week and every other weekend, he says, "We have backyard barbecues, we go to Walmart."

It's been more than two years since Kate Gosselin and her brood of eight – twins Mady and Cara, 12, and sextuplets Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel, Leah and Aaden, 9 – appeared on their own TV series, and the single mom is decidedly humble about her circumstances.
"I'm living very carefully these days," Gosselin tells PEOPLE in its latest issue, on newsstands Friday.
Now that her TLC reality show is a thing of the past, the matriarch is making ends meet "piecing and patching together" an income from a variety of projects, she says.

Kate Gosselin is looking for her plus-one, and she's hoping to find him on the same place she debuted her plus-eight: on TV.
The divorced mother, 37, has signed on to shoot a dating show, which has yet to be picked up by a network, reports E! News.
"She is ready to find love again and to move on from her past," a source tells E! "She's excited. This is a chance to start something new."

Three years after his headline-making, acrominious divorce, Jon Gosselin says he and Kate are getting along now – and he's sorry for the way he behaved post-split, he tells PEOPLE in a new interview.
"I am sorry, because I did stuff I wouldn't want done to me," he says, referring to the steady stream of women he dated after their split.
He also accepts his share of responsibility for the divorce. "I was passive-aggressive," he says. "Then I'd get mad, but I was the one who wasn't communicating."
Now, he says, times have changed.

It's still just Kate plus eight.
Kate Gosselin revealed Wednesday on Dr. Drew's Lifechangers that she's still single, though she's open to the idea of dating.
"I am lonely," says the former reality star mom, 36. "I clean up the house, put kids to bed, and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person – I don't know if I feel ready for that."
Asked if she has a love life, she replied: "No. I'm too busy. I think a lot of my friends, who are being constructive, say, 'Gosh, who are you going to meet that is going to be able to deal with eight kids?' My answer is always if they can deal with eight kids in our situation, it probably will be the person."

Have no fear: Kate Gosselin will be back on TV, the reality star and current PEOPLE cover girl repeatedly made clear Monday morning.
With Monday night bringing to a close her TLC show Kate Plus 8 – and ex-husband Jon Gosselin imploring Kate to get a normal life – the reality star said in a live interview with Matt Lauer on Today that she's concerned for her show's "devastated" fans whom, she said, must feel like they are losing their favorite next-door neighbor.
As for her own reaction to ending a six-year run in front of the cameras, she admitted to mixed emotions. "There is some relief," she said, [but also] there is sadness, because it's the end of an era."
There is also the fear of what future opportunities might – or, now, might not – exist for her children. With her role as a mother being to "give them the best opportunities available," she sees TV as able to provide that.

Former reality star Jon Gosselin has some harsh words for his ex-wife Kate Gosselin following her PEOPLE cover story, in which she expressed concern for her family's future.
"Reality TV is not a career," Jon said in an new interview with RumorFix.com. "Get back to a normal life – a simple life."
Following TLC's cancelation of her Kate Plus 8, the reality star told PEOPLE she's "freaking out" about providing for her eight kids.
Jon, who says that he continues to pay child support and sees his kids "a lot," isn't worried.
