Charges were dropped against Jonathan Rhys Meyers on Wednesday after the actor apologized for his drunken confrontation at a Dublin Airport earlier this month.
Rhys Meyers's lawyer, Michael Staines, said the Tudors star's behavior on Nov. 18 was "unacceptable and out of character" and that Rhys Meyers "unreservedly apologizes" to the authorities and staff at British airline BMI, the Associated Press reports.
The actor's arrest came just days before reports surfaced that his mother died. Rhys Meyers also did a stint in rehab earlier this year.

Rhys Meyers, 30, was refused permission to board a London-bound flight when police confronted the actor twice after erratic, abusive behavior at an airport gate and at a desk of the British airline BMI, the Associated Press reports.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers hit the New York premiere of his new film August Rush wearing a ring on his left ring finger – but don't jump to conclusions.
"It's a ring from my girlfriend," he confirmed to PEOPLE. (He's back on with longtime love Reena Hammer, who was by his side for the event.) But are they engaged? "No, in love!" he exclaimed.
"I think it's nice to go out with someone who is smarter than you," Meyers has said of Hammer. "It's very sexy. I believe the greatest erogenous zone in the body sits on your shoulders."
The film – which co-stars Keri Russell, Terrence Howard and Robin Williams – is the most recent big-screen project for the star of Showtime's The Tudors.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers, the very hunky 30-year-old star of Showtime's The Tudors, gazes hungrily at readers from the cover of this month's Details magazine – in which he weighs in on a couple other hunky leading men.
On Brad Pitt, he says: "Let's not kid ourselves – this business is about being good-looking. Look, Brad Pitt is an incredible actor, but do you think he'd be a famous movie star if he didn't look like that? Come on!"
And he has a few words on Leonardo DiCaprio as well. "[Leo] was successful very young, was a party boy, took two years off, and then became this major Hollywood player. Right now I can get a $5 million film green-lit, not a $100 million film."
