Amanda Seyfried and Josh Hartnett's appear to have a budding new romance.
The pair, who were first spotted in public last weekend grocery shopping in L.A., rounded up their dogs – Seyfried's Australian shepherd Finn and Hartnett's mixed-breed pup Iggy – for a fun day at the beach in Malibu on Tuesday.
With Hartnett, 33, standing close by, Seyfried, 26, laughed as she watched Finn run in and out of the water. Later, Hartnett played fetch with Iggy and Finn by tossing a tennis ball over the sand.

Fresh off a stint in the hospital for gastrointestinal problems, Josh Hartnett is back in action – and back on the prowl.
On Thursday, a month after locking lips with former flame Kirsten Dunst, his Virgin Suicides costar, at New York City's Beatrice Inn, Hartnett, 30, was spotted sharing lunch at West Village eatery the Spotted Pig with another on-and-off paramour, supermodel Helena Christensen.

Despite his recent hospitalization with stomach pains, Josh Hartnett assured PEOPLE at Wednesday night's New Yorkers For Children Sixth Annual Spring Dinner, "I'm fine. I just had a little stomach bug."
The Pearl Harbor star, 30, was staying at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood when he began complaining of abdominal pain a little before 2 a.m. on March 30. An ambulance arrived quickly, and he was able to walk into it on his own, his rep, Susan Patricola, said at the time.
On Wednesday, Hartnett said that he thinks the reason why "everyone made such a big deal" about his medical incident was because he was rushed to the emergency room from the West Hollywood celebrity haunt, the Chateau Marmont hotel. "But, that's where I always stay when I'm in L.A.," he says.

Josh Hartnett has not let a few days in the hospital slow him down.
The Black Hawk Down star, 30, who was hospitalized last week in Los Angeles for what his representatives described as a gastrointestinal problem, appeared in fine fiddle Thursday night – at one point even taking the stage at the Florida Room in the Delano Hotel on Miami's party-rich South Beach.
"Josh jumped on stage with a local Miami band," says a source at the club. "He looked happy and was having fun."
Since leaving the hospital last Friday, Hartnett has been having so much fun in fact that he hasn't been able to contain it to one coast.

Josh Hartnett has been released from L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he had been hospitalized since Monday for a gastrointestinal problem. "He's fine," his rep Susan Patricola tells PEOPLE. "They are running tests, which take time to get back and it's a process of elimination."
The 30-year-old Pearl Harbor star was taken to the hospital by ambulance Monday after complaining of abdominal pains. Patricola said Hartnett was under observation for a "flare-up" of gastrointestinal problem he has been suffering from for several months since starring in the London stage version of Rain Man. "They just have to figure out what it is," she says.

It's a long way from his native Minnesota, but Josh Hartnett says he wants to do charity work with children in Africa.
"I want to go down there and actually help out," the actor, 30, said at a London event for Dramatic Need, a group that sends volunteers to Africa to teach art, film, dance and photography, Britain's Press Association reports.
"It's fun for an actor to be able to do something that's not for publicity, but actually go down and do something hands-on," he said.
