Now Josh Lucas has found an even bigger costar – the 150-ft. wave that upends a cruise ship in the disaster pic Poseidon, which crashes into theaters May 12. The Little Rock native chatted with PEOPLE about life, love and booking passage on one seriously soggy blockbuster.

He's dated Salma Hayek (in real life), romanced Jennifer Lopez (in An Unfinished Life) and married Reese Witherspoon (Sweet Home Alabama), but these days, Josh Lucas is – attention, ladies – available. "I'm sickeningly and boringly single at this point," the actor, 34, told PEOPLE. "I'm tired of it." But his looks (and acting chops) haven't gone unnoticed by Hollywood: He stars in the college basketball flick Glory Road and the deep-sea adventure Poseidon. Lucas talked with PEOPLE about his love life and his secret to getting in character (beer!).

Gwyneth Paltrow: Always a Mommy

Gwyneth Paltrow took a night off from parenting duties to attend the London premiere of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow on Sunday, looking glamorous in a Vivienne Westwood dress and Christian Leboutin shoes. Along with the adoration of the crowd, Paltrow received "a lovely bunch of flowers" from costar Jude Law in honor of her 32nd birthday the following day. Even though 4-month-old daughter Apple and hubby Chris Martin stayed at home, the actress quickly began talking about being a mom. In terms of bonding with her baby: "I spend as much time with her as possible, and sing to her," said Paltrow, adding that she never sings Martin's songs to her daughter: "Oh no. I'm not that cheesy." Next up for Paltrow: Proof, with Anthony Hopkins and Jake Gyllenhaal, due in December.
