Her boyfriend's lyrics could often pass for the mushy musings of Fifty Shades of Grey's favorite control freak, Christian Grey.
But when it comes to steamy romance, Selena Gomez might be feeling a little bit blue these days. (No offense, Justin Bieber.)
In a Funny or Die video parodying the erotic series-turned-book club sensation (turned movie deal!), Gomez meets Carl Blue, a painter, who does not share Grey or Bieber's good looks.

Justin Bieber isn't her "Boyfriend," but he was Cady Eimer's date for a night at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
Who is Cady Eimer? The 18-year-old Virginia high school student had been asking the superstar to go to her senior prom with her for several years via her website, but Bieber had to decline the invitation because of prior obligations.
But Bieber had another idea.
"I couldn't make it [to prom] so I said I need you to fly to the Billboard Awards and you can be my date," he told PEOPLE. "She's a big fan and I thought it would be fun."

The gift of music, of course!
Justin Bieber penned a new song called "Turn To You" – out on Friday at midnight on iTunes – as a Mother's Day present for his mom, Pattie Malette. Listen to a clip of it here first (below).
The new song is the latest gift that Bieber, 18, has given his mother. The singer recently announced that he graduated high school, namely for his mom.
"That was something my mom really wanted me to do, so I had to do it for her," Bieber said. "I mean, this kind of lifestyle has given me a different perspective on life."

Selena Gomez must be proud.
At some point between promoting his latest fragrance "Someday," clocking time in the recording studio (and a spending time with girlfriend Gomez), Justin Bieber finished high school.
"I passed my test – I'm free," the pop star, 18, tells the U.K.'s Daily Telegraph. "It was hard doing school and work every day."

Who knew Justin Bieber and boxing were such a winning combination?
The pop star, 18, not only attended Floyd Mayweather's title fight at the Las Vegas MGM Grand on Saturday, but Bieber also escorted the former Dancing with the Stars contestant into the ring while carrying two of the boxer's championship belts.
Bieber's appearance came as a surprise to those in the arena, though perhaps fans should have suspected something was up after the "Boyfriend" singer Tweeted earlier in the day, "cinco de mayo... #MayweatherCotto yeah @floydmayweather today is a BIG day."

Justin Bieber Challenges Usher to a Dance-Off

Usher got a run for his money when Justin Bieber challenged him to a dance-off during his performance on the off-Broadway show, Fuerza Bruta, Friday night.
"It was a total surprise, and it was so cool," said a member in the audience.
Usher performed in the show and debuted songs from his upcoming album Looking for Myself. Bieber was there to support his mentor, but the singer surprised him by coming into the audience and smashing a confetti-filled prop onto his head. They hugged and Bieber then started an impromptu dance-off.
The verdict is out on who won, but Bieber seemed to be into Usher's moves, and the young singer later Tweeted, "@usherraymondiv U KILLED IT yesterday."
Meanwhile, Usher showed off his skills again the following night when he performed as a man running on a treadmill. He also thanked the cast and crew privately backstage after his final performance.

It was the lip-lock at the Billboard Music Awards last year that confirmed all those rumors about Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez
Now, the "Boyfriend" crooner, 18, who got that celebratory smooch from Gomez after he took the top new artist honor, will be back this year for the show in Las Vegas as a performer.
The Biebs joins Carrie Underwood and LMFAO in taking the stage Sunday, May 20, at the MGM Grand for the awards which air live at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Selena Gomez joined boyfriend Justin Bieber at a jam-packed event for his Pencils of Promise Charity at St. Andrews School in Boca Raton. The charitable organization builds schools for the underprivileged around the world, and Bieber stopped by to congratulate several students on their great fundraising efforts.
"When Justin wasn’t interacting with the group, he and Selena were behind [the] stage and in the backyard area making out," an eyewitness source tells PEOPLE. "It was amazing to see a young couple so much in love."
While in town, the two also the couple stopped by the oceanfront Breakers hotel in Palm Beach – then headed over to nearby Jupiter, Fla., for a private event.

Pulling up in a black Range Rover, Justin Bieber and a pal quickly breezed through Joe's Pizza in Hollywood for lunch on Tuesday.
"They were really friendly and chatty with the staff," an onlooker tells PEOPLE of the singer and his pal, who ordered a couple slices of freshly baked Grandma Pie, a combo of marinara, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil topped with extra virgin olive oil.
"It was a quick in and out," the source says. "They grabbed their pizza to go."

In his new single, "Boyfriend," Justin Bieber pledges to shower the girl he's wooing with money, swag and fondue. But in real life, the 18-year-old heartthrob admits there's more to a relationship than material things.
"I think a good boyfriend is just someone who can be honest and loving and supportive," Bieber, who co-wrote the single with Mike Posner, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive video. "I think honest is one of the most important things, because if you're not honest in a relationship, it can't go really anywhere."
Bieber, who is dating Selena Gomez, also admits: "The last time I ate fondue was like a year ago."
