It's still just Kate plus eight.

Kate Gosselin revealed Wednesday on Dr. Drew's Lifechangers that she's still single, though she's open to the idea of dating.

"I am lonely," says the former reality star mom, 36. "I clean up the house, put kids to bed, and there I sit. Ideally I would find that person – I don't know if I feel ready for that."

Asked if she has a love life, she replied: "No. I'm too busy. I think a lot of my friends, who are being constructive, say, 'Gosh, who are you going to meet that is going to be able to deal with eight kids?' My answer is always if they can deal with eight kids in our situation, it probably will be the person."

She's used to chasing after her children (and at times being chased by paparazzi) but Kate Gosselin had a different reason to be running down the famous Las Vegas Strip on Sunday.

The mother of eight, who bundled up on an unusually chilly night with a top that said "Finishing Is Winning," completed the Zappos.com Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon – her first marathon – in 4 hours, 59 minutes and 21 seconds.

"I'm not one to do anything lightly," Gosselin, 36, told PEOPLE before running the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon. "I either do it or I kill it. I guess this is considered killing it."

Spend four and a half years in front of a set of TV cameras, and you'll end up with plenty of great memories – and some not-so-pleasant ones, too.

On Monday night, TLC will air the final episode of Kate Plus 8 – formerly known as Jon & Kate Plus 8 – and is promoting it with trailers in which Kate Gosselin and her children look back at how the show changed their lives.

One video collects clip after clip of Gosselin, 36, losing her temper. "I couldn't even stand myself in season two," she says. "I think people think that I'm like Mommy Dearest .... this horrendous person."

Kate Gosselin Vows She'll Be Back on TV

Have no fear: Kate Gosselin will be back on TV, the reality star and current PEOPLE cover girl repeatedly made clear Monday morning.

With Monday night bringing to a close her TLC show Kate Plus 8 – and ex-husband Jon Gosselin imploring Kate to get a normal life – the reality star said in a live interview with Matt Lauer on Today that she's concerned for her show's "devastated" fans whom, she said, must feel like they are losing their favorite next-door neighbor.

As for her own reaction to ending a six-year run in front of the cameras, she admitted to mixed emotions. "There is some relief," she said, [but also] there is sadness, because it's the end of an era."

There is also the fear of what future opportunities might – or, now, might not – exist for her children. With her role as a mother being to "give them the best opportunities available," she sees TV as able to provide that.

Kate Gosselin: What Should She Do Next?

Originally posted 08/16/2011 04:30PM

Now that Kate Gosselin's TLC reality show, Kate Plus 8, has been canceled, she may be looking toward her next career move. In addition to being a reality star, Kate is a registered nurse and a best-selling author – not to mention a super mom. So, what should she do next? Here are some ideas:

Kate serves up healthy meals for her eight children and prefers organic, so why not become a natural foods chef? She can certainly handle cooking for picky customers – and lots of them.

She and her ex-husband Jon Gosselin weren't afraid to squabble in front of the cameras while filming Jon & Kate Plus 8. Maybe it's time to put that experience to good use and have straight-shooter Kate sit down with bickering couples as their marriage counselor.

Kate Gosselin's TV Show, Kate Plus 8, Gets Canceled

Kate Gosselin's days as a reality star are done for now.

TLC – the network that gave viewers a firsthand glimpse of Kate's tumultuous and highly publicized split from ex-husband Jon Gosselin while they continued to raise their eight children – will no longer follow the 36-year-old and her brood with cameras.

"TLC has decided not to renew another season of Kate Plus 8," a network rep told PEOPLE in a statement. "By the end of this season Kate Plus 8 will have hit the 150 episode mark (including Jon & Kate Plus 8); an exceptional milestone. TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future."
