Motherhood is obviously agreeing with Katherine Heigl. Asked on Wednesday night's London red carpet for her movie with Ashton Kutcher, Killers, if she and husband Josh Kelley might provide daughter Naleigh – now 18 months old – with a sibling by adopting again, the actress replied, "I hope so."

Having brought home Naleigh from South Korea last September, Heigl said she's finding it "difficult" to combine childcare with a career.

"Like any working mom, I have to make some compromises, but it is so much easier said than done," said Heigl. "I knew that I wanted to keep working, because I love what I do. But it was really hard to leave her and go to work so far away."

Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley shared a romantic dinner date at newly opened L.A. eatery Hatfield's. And while Heigl and Kelley may have been dining a deux, they weren't alone by the end of the night. The couple spotted some friends, so they swapped tables and finished the evening with pals. "Everyone was laughing, enjoying the food and having a great time," an onlooker tells us.

There are things that make you go "Hmm," and things that make you go, "Well, duh." There's been lots of the latter over the past week. Among the not-so-shocking news making headlines, we'd like you to pick a favorite:

• Ricky Martin reveals he's gay. Good for Ricky for coming out after all these years, though it wasn't exactly a huge surprise.

Elin Nordegren doesn't want to go to the Masters. If you were Elin, would you even watch it on TV?

Heidi Montag wants to be a Hollywood mogul. Heidi has never been guilty of underestimating her talents. Why start now?

Now that Katherine Heigl has checked out of Seattle Grace Hospital officially, where will the Emmy-winning actress turn up next?

The star of romantic comedies like 27 Dresses and Knocked Up, who together with husband Josh Kelley adopted a girl six months ago, said she's going to focus on motherhood instead of her acting career. But is staying home and changing diapers really in the cards for Heigl in the long run? She already has a slew of upcoming films to promote, including Killers, costarring Ashton Kutcher, out in June, and December's Life as We Know It with Josh Duhamel.

Perhaps the actress should consider some of the following potential career moves:

Katherine Heigl Ready to Be 'More of a Mom'

Whether or not her time at Seattle Grace is officially done, Katherine Heigl says her future plans involve caring for her daughter.

"I think I'm just gonna try and keep it a little more mellow," she told PEOPLE of her future plans, "and be a little bit more of a mom, since that's a big part of my life now."

Heigl and husband Josh Kelley adopted daughter Naleigh from South Korea in Sept. 2009.

Though nothing is confirmed, and Heigl could not discuss whether she is indeed leaving Grey's Anatomy, rumors have been mounting that she is finished with the show. Peaking the speculation, Heigl was a no-show on the ABC set this month after taking a three month maternity leave.

"I took those 3 months off and I realized how very, very important is my family is to me and I want to be more available to them," she said Thursday at Las Vegas's ShoWest convention while accepting an award for Female Star Of The Year.

Her family "is wonderful," the actress says. "They're the icing on the cake."

Paging Dr. Stevens? Don't count on it.

Katherine Heigl is "not likely" to be back on Grey's Anatomy after the current season, according to a source close to the situation.

Heigl, who was due back on the set of the ABC medical drama after a three-month maternity leave but did not return to work, is negotiating her way out of her contract.

"The details, the timeline of that – it's all shades of gray," the source says. "The terms of her exit are still being sorted out."

In the most recent episode to feature Heigl, her character, Dr. Izzie Stevens, walked away from the Seattle Grace hospital, leaving viewers to wonder whether she'll be back at all.

Romantic dates on the French Riviera? Check. A talented, likeable female lead? Check. Car chases, shootouts and a shirtless Ashton Kutcher showing off his ripped abs? Triple check.

Izzie is back -- but her return could be short-lived.

After taking a three-month maternity leave to bond with her 15-month-old daughter Naleigh, whom she adopted in September with husband Josh Kelley, Katherine Heigl is due to return to the set of Grey's Anatomy on March 1. Two weeks later, the actress, 31, will travel to Las Vegas to accept the ShoWest award for Female Star of the Year, a film-industry honor previously won by the likes of Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

Is the award yet another sign that Heigl -- who took a five-episode hiatus from Grey's earlier this season to film the romantic comedy Life As We Know It with Josh Duhamel -- is ready to depart Grey's to focus full-time on her film career?

"It wouldn't be a shock," says a source close to the show. By the time Grey's airs the finale of season 6 in May, Heigl will have been absent from roughly half of its 24-episode run.
