Tom Cruise Talks Couch-Jumping and Family Life

Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey are sitting down to talk – but this time it's on his couch.
In the first part of a two-part interview, Winfrey visits Cruise in his Telluride, Colo. home – and talk inevitably turns to the actor's now-infamous couch jumping incident from 2005.
"[It] was a moment, and it was real," Cruise says about his animated profession of love for Katie Holmes, in the interview to air on Friday. "I just felt that way, and I feel that way about her," he continues. "I can't even articulate it, to be honest. That feeling, that connection. Just who she is and what she means to me."

Suri's Extended Family Celebrates Her 2nd Birthday

Suri's second birthday was a family affair this weekend as both Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's extended families came together in Los Angeles to celebrate the youngest Cruise.
The two families, which included Katie's parents Kathy and Martin Holmes, who flew in from Ohio, and Tom's mother, sisters and his two children with Nicole Kidman, Connor and Bella, enjoyed a low-key, intimate birthday party on Friday afternoon at a property in the Hollywood Hills.
The guests listened to music, danced, played games and enjoyed a four-tiered chocolate and vanilla cake from Sweet Lady Jane, decorated with yellow polka dots and butterflies.

Suri Cruise Turns 2 Years Old

Last year, Suri Cruise celebrated her first birthday with a lunch at her parents' compound in Los Angeles, where members of both the Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes clans gathered to dine on pizza and cupcakes from a Beverly Hills bakery.
This April 18, as she turns 2, it seems that the birthday girl got an early start on gathering her presents.
In January, as her mother was promoting her movie Mad Money in Manhattan, Suri and Katie managed to hit toy heaven – better known as FAO Schwarz – where Tom threw Katie her own birthday bash in 2005.
As history has proven, birthdays bring about awfully big celebrations in the Cruise family. Friday, a whimsical four-tier birthday cake from Sweet Lady Jane on Melrose was collected for Suri. Whatever the plans this year, Happy Birthday, Suri. And a pinch, to grow an inch.

Katie Holmes Heading to Broadway?

Is Katie Holmes preparing to swap playdates for the Great White Way? Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reports that she's in talks for a role on Broadway.
Respected showbiz writer Baz Bamigboye reports that Holmes is "in final negotiations" to make her professional stage debut in a revival of All My Sons, Arthur Miller's heartbreaking, post-World War II family drama.
While the Mail reports the actress has committed to participating in a workshop of the play in May, a rep for Holmes tells PEOPLE that she is in discussions but also says, "nothing is set."

Tom and Katie Double Date with the Seinfelds

Suri may not have joined them, but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had plenty of company at New York City's Sfoglia Tuesday night.
The pair joined Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld at the exclusive upper east side eatery, for a nearly three-hour-long meal. Along with plates of rustic Italian food and red wine, the foursome shared plenty of laughs.
In addition to Holmes entertaining the table with her animated storytelling, Cruise and Seinfeld cracked a few jokes.

Tom Cruise Scientology Video Hits the Web

A video clip of Tom Cruise, from a private Scientology event more than three years ago, is making the YouTube rounds. The clip, which was pulled from the video site but is still online, shows the star praising what he calls the "privilege" of being a Scientologist. (Click here to see the video.)

Katie Holmes: Being a Mom Is 'Magical'

Katie Holmes discussed the three M's with David Letterman Monday night: marathons, her movie Mad Money and, most importantly, motherhood.
"They do grow up so quickly," Holmes, mother of daughter Suri, who turns 2 in April, told the Late Show host (who is father of son Harry, who turned 4 in November).
Of being a parent, Holmes, 29, said, "It is beautiful [to] become part of that club. It's sweet, and suddenly your life is just magical."
