All Grown Up: Ron Howard's Parenthood Cast 25 Years Later

Originally posted 08/02/2014 04:00PM

Family: You can't live with 'em, you can't live without 'em – so you might as well make a movie about them. That's exactly what Ron Howard did with Parenthood, which hit theaters on August 2, 1989.

The story of four siblings working to raise their children right and keep their sanity at the same time, this movie was (and still is) relatable to moms and dads of all generations. Since its release, Parenthood has gone on to inspire two different TV shows, and it serves as an adorable archive of big stars in their early years. In fact, one of Bryce Dallas Howard's first on-screen roles was an uncredited bit in her dad's ensemble comedy.

What about the other billed stars of Parenthood? Sadly, not all the actors are still with us today. Jason Robards, who played Parenthood's patriarch Frank, passed away in 2000, but most of the Buckman clan is still working in showbiz.

To celebrate the film's 25th anniversary, we put together a family reunion to see what Parenthood's main players are up to right now.

It's the best movie about a bus, and it hit theaters on June 10, 1994. Of course, it's so much more than just a bus movie. Speed is a solid action film, in case you haven't re-watched it one of the bajillion times it's aired on cable in the past two decades.

The film's stars, Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, recently spoke to Hitfix about the beloved blockbuster.

"I don't think anyone had any idea what was going to happen ... I certainly didn't feel it," Bullock told Hitfix. "I think we were sort of ridiculed a bit for being the 'low budget bomb-on-the-bus movie.' Not that I cared. I was just so happy to have a job and that I got to work with Keanu."

Keanu Reeves Recalls Swayze as 'A Beautiful Person'

When Patrick Swayze was given a task, not only did he deliver to the fullest but he had a blast in the process, recalls onetime costar Keanu Reeves about Swayze, who succumbed to cancer on Monday.

"There was some sky diving sequences in this film we did together and as filming was going on it came to be that Patrick was jumping out of airplanes all the time," Reeves recalled of their 1991 movie Point Break. "I think he had over 30 jumps during the course of filming and so the production served him with a cease and desist which he listened to until they got to Hawaii."

In it, Swayze played a bank-robbing surfer named Bodhi, who forms a bond with the undercover FBI agent (Reeves) assigned to catch him. In the course of the story, "he jumps out of planes and did the flips and falling to the ground and he did it with an open heart," remembers Reeves.

Keanu Reeves Wins Case Against Paparazzo

Keanu Reeves Wins Case Against Paparazzo

Originally posted 11/03/2008 04:20PM

It's a Sweet November for Keanu Reeves, who was found not responsible for a paparazzo's purported injuries.

During a five-day civil trial in Los Angeles, photographer Alison Silva – who was suing Reeves for $711,974 in medical bills, lost wages, and punitive damages – claimed the Speed star struck him with his Porsche in March 2007.

But attorneys for Reeves, 44, who testified in the trial, pointed out contradicting statements by Silva and then presented the jury with video of the photographer using his injured hand to climb down a fence after shooting video of Britney Spears.

After taking a break from the trial over the weekend, the jury met Monday morning and unanimously rejected the case after less than three hours of deliberations.
