Good cop, bad cop is a strategy we've seen employed many times by celebrity duos, but no two performers have perfected it quite like Country Music Awards co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, who reteamed to emcee the show for the sixth straight year on Wednesday.

There's a new pitter patter of little feet at Kellie Pickler's home – but not that kind.
"Me & Peanut," the Dancing with the Stars champ Tweeted on Sunday, sharing a photo of her furry friend captioned #MyNewPup.
Pickler and her husband, Kyle Jacobs, are already pet parents to a menagerie of animals, including a number of dogs, a cat and a snake.

Two weeks after Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough were declared the winners of season 16 of Dancing with the Stars, the sassy blonde country singer brought her mirror-ball trophy home to Nashville, where she opened the Tuesday night show of the Grand Ole Opry – and got a hero's welcome.
After her torchy performance of "Stop Cheating on Me," members of the audience mimicked the DWTS panel by holding up paddles with the No. 10, prompting a delighted laugh from Pickler, who said, "I wish y'all could have been the judges!"
At a party backstage, she was presented with a caricature of her dancing on the Opry stage, a pair of Music City flip-flops, a mirror-ball cake, keys to the city and the surprisingly heavy trophy handed over to her by Hough, who was on hand for the celebration.

While Kellie Pickler says she had no sense she would win the mirror-ball trophy Dancing With the Stars, her fellow contestants said there were clues all along the way that she would be a star on this season's show.
Country singer Pickler, 26, who rose to fame on the fifth season of American Idol, said her ballroom strategy was to focus on being in the moment each week, not on the long-term outcome.
"I just tried to take it one week at a time, one dance at a time," the North Carolina-born Pickler told PEOPLE after her victory, with her partner Derek Hough at her side.

Being the first one eliminated on the last night of competition was rough for Dancing with the Stars contestant Alexandra Raisman.
"I'm sad it's over," Mark Ballas's partner, 18, told PEOPLE in the ballroom immediately after Tuesday's finale. "Right when they announced [our elimination], it was just heartbreaking. You work so hard and everyone wants to win."
Fortunately, after news of the fourth-place pair's dismissal sunk in, Raisman had a new outlook on the situation.
