Years of seeing her father, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, battle drug and alcohol addiction made it all the more difficult for Kelly Osbourne to face up to her own demons.

"I was ashamed of myself," Osbourne, 24, says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an interview set to air Monday, Sept. 21. "I didn't want to tell my parents" – especially mother Sharon, 56.

"My mom had been in a relationship with my father for years and years trying to get him sober," says Osbourne, who is competing on the new fall season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars with partner Louis van Amstel. "I was completely ashamed that I would have to go to her and now tell her that her daughter has issues as well.

There may be a ring on her finger, but Kelly Osbourne isn't planning her wedding to British model Luke Worrall just yet.

Osbourne, 23, who talked to PEOPLE after returning home from a rehab stint to treat her addiction to painkillers, became engaged to Worrall, 19, in November.

"I think the last thing I should be doing right now is planning a wedding," she says. "I'd become one of those cracked-out housewives with a vacuum cleaner, hopped up on Dexedrine."

Three weeks after completing a month-long stay in a rehabilitation center, Kelly Osbourne tells PEOPLE that she's been addicted to painkillers since she was a teenager.

"I had my tonsils taken out [at age 13], and they gave me liquid Vicodin," the TV personality recalls of her first use of painkillers. "I found, when I take this, people like me. I'm having fun, I'm not getting picked on. It became a confidence thing."

Osbourne, 24, says that despite two trips to rehab in 2004 and 2005, she has never been clean until now.

Originally posted 01/29/2009 06:30AM

It's been a rough start to 2009 for Kelly Osbourne. After being arrested for allegedly slapping a journalist earlier this month, Sharon and Ozzy's daughter checked herself into a Los Angeles rehab facility for a 30-day stay.

"Kelly's always struggled with addiction," a source tells PEOPLE about Osbourne, 24, who's previously been to rehab for painkiller addiction in 2004 and 2005.

The source goes on to say that Osbourne, who divides her time between London and L.A., is greatly influenced by where she's living – and that her lifestyle in London "is very bad for her."

Kelly Osbourne Arrested for Assault

Kelly Osbourne has been arrested for allegedly slapping a journalist in a London nightclub last summer.

The 24-year-old daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne was released on bail as inquiries continue. She is scheduled to return to see authorities in March.

The allegations stem from a claim that Osbourne hit gossip columnist Zoe Griffin after Griffin wrote an article mocking Osbourne's model boyfriend Luke Worrall. In a piece last August in the U.K. newspaper The Mirror, Griffin wrote that she was approached in Punk nightclub by Osbourne, who took issue with a story Griffin had written saying Worrall had to ask how an earthquake was caused.

Originally posted 08/27/2008 01:10PM

Kelly Osbourne was spotted in London Tuesday sporting a painful-looking black eye – but despite her dramatic appearance, Osbourne says she's alright.

The accident that caused it, she says, was nothing more than a klutzy moment.

"I'm such an idiot," the singer, 23, tells PEOPLE with a laugh. "I had a stomach ache so was getting a glass of water. I bent down to fill a glass and when I lifted up my head I caught my eye on the side of the cupboard. I was like, 'I can't believe I just did that!'

"I didn't realize how bad I'd actually hurt myself [until] my face felt warm and I realized it was blood."

Kelly Osbourne may be a self-confessed addict who has trust issues with men ... but she's the happiest she's ever been.

"I was born an addict and I'll always be an addict," Osbourne, 23, tells Fabulous magazine, a new supplement from the News of The World. "But I've learned to live with it."

The youngest Osbourne, who checked into rehab in 2004, during the filming of her family's reality TV show says: "There are different levels of addiction, whether it be drugs, spending money, overeating or painting your nails 17 times a day. It's an addictive gene and you have it the rest of your life."
