Welcome to Kenny Chesney's reality.

The country star says he loves to help fans escape the worries of everyday life, which is where he got the inspiration for his new tune "Reality." And PEOPLE.com has your exclusive first listen of the song off Chesney's upcoming album, Hemingway's Whiskey.

Listen to the song here:

Chesney says he tapped into his own past – before he became one of country music's biggest stars – to write the tune. "I had dreams of doing this one day. I remember going to so many shows and going, 'Wow, that just looks unbelievable,' " he says in a video clip off the deluxe version of his disc.

Tim McGraw Is Country's Hottest Guy

Originally posted 06/11/2010 11:40AM

At 43, Tim McGraw is a toned 178 lbs. (trimmer than he's been in years), he's got the swagger of a guy who knows himself (he's not afraid of facials!) and manages to balance self-depreciation with sex appeal (his sleepwear of choice? All natural).

For those reasons and more, McGraw is hands down PEOPLE Country's hottest guy – but, he jokes, he might not rank in the Top Two as far as his wife, Faith Hill, is concerned.

"My wife would pick George Strait," he says. "She thinks he's gorgeous! Or Kris Kristofferson. When we're around him, she can barely speak."

Add Kenny Chesney to the list of celebrities who've been affected by the severe Tennessee floods.

On Wednesday, the country star demonstrated just how serious the situation is by posting a photo on Twitter of himself nearly knee-deep in water. He can be seen clutching a white electric guitar while standing next to a small motorboat filled with several items, including a plastic storage box and a guitar case.

"Sending Anderson Cooper footage of my house under water," the singer, 42, Tweeted Wednesday, a few hours before he was scheduled to appear on CNN to discuss the damage.

"TN is a mess with floods," Chesney wrote on his Twitter page Sunday. "If you're fortunate enough to help out, hit up the mid-TN Red Cross. Stay safe, everyone."

Now that his 3D concert movie is hitting theaters, Kenny Chesney has some free time on his hands. How he will spend it, not even he knows – and that's just fine with the country superstar.

"I haven't really got a chance to spend a lot of time with my family," the artist, 42, told PEOPLE at Saturday's Las Vegas premiere of Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D. "I've been gone for 17 years. I'm going to try and write a few songs and see how my boat fits again and kind of going from there."

Where will that boat take him? "I'll probably go somewhere in the Caribbean with it. I don't really know yet."

Kenny Chesney has professed his love for the beach, but the country singer has a soft spot for the nation’s parks.

"Anyone who spends time in nature realizes what a treasure our National Parks System is," says Chesney. "But I'm not sure they realize what it costs to maintain."

To help, the singer has teamed up with the Nature Valley granola bar company to raise money for the National Parks Conservation Association. For each of the first 50,000 movie tickets to his concert film opening April 21, Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D, purchased online at preservetheparks.com, $1 will be donated to the NPCA.

Kenny Chesney may have taken the year off from touring, but that doesn't mean he has been staying home, either.

The country superstar spent several weeks this winter in L.A. editing his new concert film Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D, which hits theaters April 21, and managed to squeeze in his first-ever Italian vacation.

"We went to Capri, Positano and a little town called Ravello," Chesney says. "I ate a lot of bread, drank a lot of wine and ate some really good cheese. And it was great. It's somewhere I've wanted to go my whole life, but I never afforded myself the time to do things like that. Now it's one of my favorite places in the world."

Though taking the time off "was the hardest decision I've ever made," Chesney says, "I'm so glad I made it. I haven't felt this content in a long time."

Kenny Chesney is blasting a tabloid report that he and Jessica Simpson flirted in front of Tony Romo at a July 4 party just days before the couple's breakup.

"Tony's a friend, and I wouldn't flirt with a buddy's girlfriend," Chesney tells PEOPLE. "More importantly, Jessica was just being sweet and there was nothing else to it. It's not funny. There were no problems. Everybody got along great. After the party, everybody went their own way and nobody thought anything more about it. Period. End of story."
