It ceases to amaze me what different types of workout music my clients request when they come to my gym. From classic rock to trance, hip-hop to Broadway, I've (patiently) heard it all!

I find that tailoring your playlist to your activity can completely change the mood, energy and pace of your workout. In fact, studies show that listening to music while you work out can increase endurance, reduce fatigue, improve performance under pressure – and even boost brainpower!

With that in mind, consider the following when deciding what makes it (and what doesn't) on to your workout playlist.

Of all the things Ke$ha could have picked up from a night out, she probably wasn't expecting a cat.

The singer announced the addition of a new feline into her family on Monday, Tweeting about its interesting arrival.

"Last night after hitting a gnarly strip club this little guy was handed to me through my car window from a Russian sketch ball," she wrote, sharing a photo of the sleeping beauty. "I think that's considered a rescue..."

Ke$ha Gets Lion Cub Named After Her

There's a Ke$ha in South Africa who is even more of an animal than the colorful pop star.

She's a lion cub named after the singer and living in the Ukutula Lion Park & Lodge, where the human Ke$ha recently spent a few days helping to rehabilitate the big cats.

Ke$ha traveled by plane, boat, bus and foot to get to the game farm outside Johannesburg, but the trek was well worth it.

Ke$ha Wants to Skinny Dip with Britney Spears

Ke$ha Wants to Skinny Dip with Britney Spears

How should pop divas Ke$ha and Britney Spears celebrate the success of their current chart topping singles "Blow" and "Till the World Ends" – which Ke$ha wrote for Spears?

"Skinny dipping," says Ke$ha, suggesting too that the splash could follow a spin on jet skis and a themed party they'd throw together. "It would be a dress-up-like-Ke$ha-or-Britney party," she says. "Either her place or my place, it doesn't matter."

Perhaps the 24-year-old's new Nashville pad would be the prime spot for such a shindig, especially since she's recently installed an underwater stereo.

"I have a small, salt-water pool that has laser beams in it and a stereo so you can be under water listening to music," says Ke$ha, who's only had time to furnish her new place with a mattress, a Budweiser lamp and a grand piano. "It's really magical."

Where the Stars Will Be Ringing in 2011

Everyone's favorite pint-sized Jersey girl will be jumping out of a ball, Miami has some of the country's hottest crooners, Las Vegas will have a more "cosmopolitan" feel and Los Angeles offers a sneak peak at a zany show – It must be New Year's Eve!

Want to know where to rub elbows with rockstars as they ring in the New Year? We've got you covered. Perhaps the most star-studded event of the weekend takes place in Sin City with Jay-Z and Coldplay ringing in 2011 with a joint concert at the official grand opening of The Cosmopolitan, a $3.9 billion Las Vegas Strip hotel. But the question remains, will Beyoncé and Gwyneth Paltrow join their husbands for a New Year's kiss at the Marquee grand opening, which is where the post-show party is.

And what would New Year's Eve be without "New Year's Rockin' Eve" in The Big Apple? Ryan Seacrest hosts the annual party in Times Square that features performances by Ke$ha and Taio Cruz. Jenny McCarthy will also be on hand looking for someone to smooch. Over at MTV's New Year's Bash, Flo Rida is set to perform twice and Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi will be placed inside a ball that will drop in Seaside Heights, N.J., as the clock ticks down to midnight.

Other New Year's Eve events include:

Who Was Grammy's Most Snubbed Artist?

Originally posted 12/07/2010 02:55PM

Music's biggest night is coming up, and Eminem, Bruno Mars and Lady Antebellum are leading the pack of nominees vying for Grammy gold on Feb. 13.

But among the stars gushing over their honors – "It feels amazing!" crowed Best New Artist nominee Justin Bieber – there were a few glaring omissions. Which ones do you think were the biggest snubs?

Lady Gaga isn't up for Song of the Year or Record of the Year
If the YouTube parodies of the video didn't clue you in, "Bad Romance" was arguably the biggest track of 2010. But although she has six nods, Gaga is shockingly absent in both categories (Song of the Year rewards the songwriter, Record of the Year rewards the artist, producer and mixer).

Ke$ha isn't up for anything
Love her or hate her, you can't argue that her the singer behind the quadruple platinum single "Tik Tok" – and subsequent dance tracks like "Your Love Is My Drug" was a force to be reckoned with. Yet she was passed over in every single category.

Alicia Keys isn't up for Album of the Year
Usually a Grammy favorite, Keys is nominated for "Empire State of Mind", her duet with Jay-Z. Yet Keys's fourth album, The Element of Freedom, was overlooked by the Grammys, in spite of its receiving almost universal praise from critics.

Sade isn't up for Album of the Year
Like Keys, Sade's hotly anticipated Soldier of Love – her first album in a decade – was overlooked in spite of receiving praise almost across-the-board from music critics.
