Kirstie Alley has all the confidence in the world in Demi Moore as her friend copes with a health crisis.
"Demi is a smart, insightful girl and she will work through it," Alley said Friday. "I have no doubts. I love Demi. She'll work it out."
Alley turned out in New York for her former Dancing with the Stars partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy's Dance With Me Studios' Ballroom Birthday Bash.

Talk about a strange New Year's resolution.
Kirstie Alley said she's going to start dating "butt-ugly men" on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Friday.
When asked about her dating life by Ellen, Alley, 60, admitted she usually goes for "psychos" and "players," so the host suggested she try going with the opposite of what she's attracted to.
"I'm thinking ugly men might be the solution,"
the Dancing with the Stars alum responded. "I'm talking about butt ugly. Because I go for really handsome men and I think butt ugly would be appreciative."

Kirstie Alley is dancing into the new year!
On Sunday, New Year’s Day, Alley launched 100 Days of Dance, a program in which she encourages people to dance for 100 consecutive days in order to lose weight or stay fit.
"I want everyone to experience some version of Dancing with the Stars," says Alley, 60, who placed second and lost weight in the dance competition.

Two months after revealing her new, 100 lbs.-lighter figure, Kirstie Alley is looking svelte and fabulous as ever, despite the pitfalls that come after losing weight.
"Maintenance probably is the hardest part," Alley, 60, told PEOPLE at last night's Dancing with the Stars. Her solution? Dancing.
"I dance almost every day," says Alley, adding that her own run on the show "gave me something that I can do every day that I actually love that doesn't feel like a hardship or a grind. Come on, getting on a treadmill every day would make me slit my throat."

A slimmed-down Kirstie Alley has been teasing fans on Twitter about her European travels with a "mystery man" – but is he a new love interest?
In fact, her travel companion is her dance partner, Serge Onik, a former So You Think You Can Dance contestant and student of Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Alley, 60, last season's Dancing with the Stars runner-up, has been leisurely dancing her way across Europe with him. (Chmerkovskiy was Alley's professional partner on show.)
"Mystery man And I slink out of Paris today 2 covertly take Rome by storm...stay tuned..Cougar Maximus,or just friends ? I luv my silly life!" the actress Tweeted on Thursday, after being spotted the day before at the Pere Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, where they visited Jim Morrison's grave.

Ricki Lake has made no secret about which former Dancing with the Stars contestant she looks up to as she competes on the show.
But Lake, 42, who continuously says she's "hoping to pull a Kirstie Alley," needs to stop focusing on other people's accomplishments and inspire herself, according to her ballroom partner Derek Hough.
"I told her, 'No more,' " Hough, 26, told PEOPLE backstage after Monday night's show. "I said, 'This is about you. This is now time.' "

When Kirstie Alley cleared the 100 lb. weight-loss hurdle this summer, it was time for a big, fat celebration.
"When I hit that mark, I went, 'That's it!' " Alley tells PEOPLE during her stay in a villa outside Florence, Italy. "I have more energy than I've ever had in my whole life."
While Alley's weight has famously fluctuated in recent years, the actress, now 60, hit a wall two years ago.

Ricki Lake seems to already be fully embracing her upcoming appearance on Dancing With the Stars – and battling nerves at the same time.
In a new video posted on YouTube, the actress and former talk show host – wearing a tutu – gamely admits, "I'm more than a little nervous. I'm actually terrified."
The newly engaged Lake, 42, encouraged fans to send her dancing pointers via Twitter, insisting her starring role as Tracy Turnblad in the original film version of Hairspray back in 1988 does not put her at an advantage.
