Krysten Ritter got into the Golden Globes spirit a little early.
The Don't Trust the B---- star made her way to Nine Zero One salon in West Hollywood for some VIP hair and beauty treatment before heading to a chic pre-Globes event on Saturday.
Starting with her hair at the shop's Colgate Optic White Beauty Bar, co-sponsored by Joico, the actress opted for a "braided up-do to show off her gown that evening," an onlooker tells PEOPLE. "After seeing a photo of her good friend Nina Dobrev, Krysten asked for a copycat look."
When it came time for beauty, Ritter went for something much more subtle, requesting a look that was "au naturel," the observer says.
Ritter, who the source says "was in a really good mood and excited about the night," chatted with a fellow salon-goer about surfing and snowboarding.

Don't Trust the B–––– in Apt. 23: Three Reasons to Watch
Originally posted 04/11/2012 07:15PM
The premise (small-town girl starts a new life in New York City, hijinks ensue) has been done before – but it's never been this twisted.
Don't Trust the B–––– in Apt. 23, premiering Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. on ABC, features June (Dreama Walker), who moves to the Big Apple only to lose her job, her apartment and her fiancé. The naïve new girl finds a room with Chloe (yes, she's the titular B), played by Krysten Ritter, and a tenuous friendship with her best pal, James Van Der Beek, playing a smarmy, crass version of himself – to hilarious results.
