• They made a few laps around L.A.'s Trousdale Lounge, but ultimately Lauren Conrad seemed more interested in spending the night out with her boyfriend, Kyle Howard, than hanging out with all her friends. So, the two retreated to the corner where they held hands, kissed and cuddled – and continued to do so even when they were joined by a few pals on the couch. Across the club, it was business usual: Paris Hilton was dancing her heart out as the center of attention, while Ashlee Simpson-Wentz spent time with a girlfriend.

• Lauren Conrad, modeling clothes for boyfriend Kyle Howard during a shopping trip at the Alice + Olivia store at the Malibu Lumber Yard. The Hills star seemed super-comfortable in front of her boyfriend, who sat on the couch enjoying her fashion show. The couple also snapped photos of children's dresses before leaving the store. "The two looked like they were in were in love, sneaking kisses here and there," an onlooker tells us.

• Lauren Conrad, hanging out with new guy pal Kyle Howard, at Teddy's inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The pair made several trips outside to the patio, and the Hills star draped herself all over the My Boys actor. The pair was inseparable, sharing pecks on the lips and looking "so happy," according to an clubgoer. Though both Conrad and Howard were with friends, the two were mostly interested in each other. (Conrad only pulled out her BlackBerry once the entire evening!)

Are Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard dating? They'll be the last to tell – for right now.

The Hills star played coy when asked Saturday about reports from pals – supported by sightings at several L.A. parties recently – that she and the My Boys actor are an item.

"I'm just dating," Conrad, 22, told PEOPLE on Saturday at the Do Something Awards Pre-Party for the Teen Choice Awards. "I'm single and having fun."

Howard, 30 was more direct. "I'm not going to answer that," he said Saturday at the Celebrity Kickball event hosted by French Connection in Malibu.

They met through Brody Jenner a few weeks ago, a friend tells PEOPLE, and have been seen together at Crown Bar on July 23 – "Almost on top of each other," a witness says – and a few days later at Project Beach House in Malibu and at jazz night at Teddy's at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.
