Desperate Housewives star Kyle MacLachlan and his producer wife Desiree Gruber have welcomed their first child, a boy, the actor's rep tells PEOPLE.
Callum Lyon MacLachlan was born Friday in Los Angeles and weighed 8 lbs, 6 oz.
MacLachlan, 49, whose next film is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and Gruber, 41, an executive producer of Project Runway, have been married for six years.

By the end of July, Desperate Housewives hunk Kyle MacLachlan will have a mini-me – but the little one's name is still up for discussion.
The dad-to-be and his wife, Project Runway producer Desiree Gruber, are currently playing the name game ... aggressively. "It won't be Kyle Jr.," MacLachlan told PEOPLE at Hamptons Magazine's 30th anniversary party on Saturday. "We've got a list of names we're trying out. One of my ideas was Jethro – but she nixed that right way!"

Desperate Housewives actor Kyle MacLachlan and his wife, Desiree Gruber, are expecting their first child, their rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The baby is due in July. "We are really excited," says the mom-to-be, 39, who is president of Full Picture and executive producer of Project Runway.
"We are thrilled," MacLachlan, 48, tells PEOPLE. "I'm so excited that I’ve been telling anyone who will listen!!"

Watch It: Desperate Housewives (ABC, 9 p.m. ET) You can't care about television and not want the best for this series, which in its first season achieved a perfect synthesis of diva camp and solid serial drama. Then came the second season, a real muddle. Now what about season 3? In the opener, thrust into the foreground is prim Stepford beauty Bree (Marcia Cross). Her new love, the dentist Orson Hodge (Kyle MacLachlan), has a missing wife in his past. This unpleasant fact we learn from that excellent actress Laurie Metcalf (of Roseanne fame), who turns up as a sort of scolding messenger of doom. It's all very Bronte. There's something persistent and powerful about the show's underpinning of (fatally) abused women.

Chad Michael Murray is Hilary Duff's Prince Charming in A Cinderella Story (opening Friday), but offscreen it wasn't the glass slipper he brought her. Instead, "He got me the whole box set of The Simpsons," Duff tells us. "We used to always talk about how we both stayed home a lot, so he asked me what shows I liked, and I told him I don't really watch TV. And he was like, 'What? I have to get you into The Simpsons.' Now I'm hooked on it. I really love them." Just how much does Murray love the long-running show? "I'm a Simpsons addict. I'm a fanatic," he tells us. "It's brilliant. The fact that the No. 1 primetime show in the history of TV is a cartoon, running for 15 years is pretty damn incredible, isn't it?"
