Lea Michele Doesn't Know How She's Going to Top Last Year's Holiday Gift for Boyfriend Matthew Paetz

Originally posted 12/22/2015 02:15PM

With the holidays right around the corner, Lea Michele is still unsure about what to give boyfriend Matthew Paetz.

"Last year, [my boyfriend and I] treated each other to tattoos," the actress told PEOPLE during a recent #ActuallySheCan campaign event. "I surprised him with a session with Dr. Woo, who is the best, so I don't know how I'm going to top that."

"I might just have to call Woo again and be like, 'Can you do it again?' " continued Michele, who got a small arrow on the inside of her finger. "But I don't know anyone else that gives his or her boyfriend a tattoo. We each got them. Like who does that?!"

Lea Michele Refuses to Actually Scream in Scream Queens: 'I'm a Singer!'

Originally posted 10/13/2015 12:50PM

The shrieks you hear from Lea Michele's mouth each week on Scream Queens aren't exactly method acting.

The Women's Health November cover star tells the magazine that, with creator Ryan Murphy's blessing, she instituted a no-screaming policy for herself on the set of the Fox show in order to preserve her singing voice.

"I refuse to scream on the show," she says. "Ryan [Murphy] got me in a booth one day, and I told him 'I'm screaming like twice and then you're going to have to use it the whole season,' because I'm a singer, and I was there with Ariana Grande and we were like, 'We can't scream, this is our gift.' So I don't scream, they just dub it in. But they say I do a really good scream face without having to scream."

Emma Roberts Is the Ultimate Mean Girl in the Bloody, Funny Scream Queens

Originally posted 09/22/2015 08:00PM

Scream Queens, Ryan Murphy's new festival of blood, fun and cruelty, doesn't pitch its tent too far from his American Horror Story on FX, except that he's smart enough to have eliminated the churning psychosexual undercurrents that can make AHS so strangely unsettling. Queens will make you laugh and maybe squeak with surprise from time to time, whereas AHS is a good argument for providing trigger alerts for TV shows.

Scream Queens is like AHS taking a Mentos break.

The show is set on a college campus, which keeps it close to contemporary teen-slasher movies (and parodies of teen-slasher movies). If your memory goes back far enough and low enough, you may find yourself even thinking of the 1973 TV movie Satan's School for Girls – or, more recently, the 2000 remake with Shannen Doherty.

And Heathers.

She might play the meanest girl on Sorority Row in Fox's upcoming horror-comedy Scream Queens, but, off screen, Emma Roberts is more interested in sleepovers than sabotage.

"Lea [Michele] and I keep each other in shape – we do Pilates," the 24 year-old reveals in the cover story for Glamour's October issue.

"Billie [Lourd, who plays one of her sorority sisters] and I have sleepovers. We'll call each other and be like, 'Hey are you scared? Yep. Me too, I'm coming over.' You always need that girlfriend you can get in bed with."

What a Scream! Watch the Terrifying, Hilarious and Oh-So-'80s Opening Credits for Scream Queens

Originally posted 09/02/2015 02:55PM

The premiere of the highly anticipated new horror-comedy Scream Queens may still be a few weeks away, but anxious fans can now whet their appetites for the scares (and laughs) to come by watching the show's title sequence.

"The show is a hybrid of wickedly funny and incredibly scary story telling set in a sorority house on a college campus," star (and original scream queen) Jamie Lee Curtis previously told PEOPLE of Ryan Murphy's new Fox show. "I play the dean, creates this scenario of mayhem by forcing the sorority accept anyone who wants to become a member."

And while Curtis is highly revered by her costars, it's the shows' co-eds who are highlighted in the extended title sequence.
