With the Emmy nominations in, such fan favorites as Orange Is the New Black and Game of Thrones felt the love – with 12 and 19 nominations, respectively.
Others, meanwhile, got left out in the cold.
CBS's The Good Wife may have just wrapped its most extraordinary season to date, but it found itself snubbed in the best drama category. Newer critical favorites, like NBC's The Blacklist and FX's The Americans, were ignored, too.

The family that swims together, stays together.
Or so it seemed on Monday, when Naomi Watts hit the beach with her partner, Liev Schreiber, and their two sons, Kai and Sasha.
Wearing an animal-print swimsuit, the 45-year-old actress showed off her toned physique as she splashed in the surf at Bondi Beach, in her native Australia.

Naomi Watts is a pin-thin actress, but she says she doesn't get that way from depriving herself of good food.
"Luckily, I have fairly good genetics, but I do exercise," she told PEOPLE on Wednesday at The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo's 25 Most Powerful Stylists luncheon in West Hollywood.
"I really do enjoy my food. I don't starve myself, because if I start denying myself, that's when I want to eat most of all. It's fine. I've pretty much always been this size. It's more about just staying in shape."

Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts do enjoy stepping out to an awards show – but it's not exactly a romantic evening away from the kids.
"It's not really what I would call a date night. It's a good room of people," Watts, 44, told PEOPLE Sunday on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where she was a nominee for outstanding female lead actor for her role in the film The Impossible.
"It's great seeing my wife dressed up," Schreiber, 45, said, after being asked about how fabulous she looked, sparkling in a strapless gown by Marchesa, set off with Christian Louboutin heels, a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Fabergé earrings.

Fashion wasn't the only hot topic on the red carpet at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.
From Claire Danes talking about being a new mom to Julia Louis-Dreyfus accepting a 52nd birthday present, nothing was off limits.
Danes – who welcomed son Cyrus with husband Hugh Dancy in December – looked flawless in a red Versace gown, but beamed most when speaking about her new addition (upstairs at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with his grandparents). "I've been in baby world," she told Ryan Seacrest. "I'm hoping I don't leak!"

Cecconi's in West Hollywood was the site of a celebrity date night as Audi kicked off Golden Globes week with a star-studded bash on Sunday.
Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts arrived holding hands and spent the evening cozied up in one corner of the restaurant's covered patio, an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
With Schreiber sipping on a glass of red wine with one arm draped adoringly around the beaming Watts's waist, the duo couldn't look any more in love.
The couple later caught up with actress Kate Bosworth and her fiancé, director Michael Polish, with Schreiber only breaking away to cross the crowded room and greet a late-arriving, Connie Britton, who was resplendent in an off-the-shoulder floor-length red gown.
