Lily Allen Granted U.S. Visa

Lily Allen picked up a songwriting award for "Smile" at the BMI Awards in London Tuesday, but the singer had another reason to celebrate.
"I got my U.S. visa today, yay!" she told PEOPLE at the awards. "It means I can go and tour there and finish what I started, which is something I've wanted to do for a while."
Allen had her visa revoked – and was forced to cancel a string of show dates – in August 2007 after a scuffle with a photographer.
The singer – who has blamed her record company for album delays – also revealed that she finally has a title and a release date for her second album.

Lily Allen: I'm Still 'Friends' with Elton John

Lily Allen spoke out Friday about her spat with Elton John at a London awards show Tuesday night.
"Elton John and I are friends," the pop star writes in a new entry on her MySpace blog.
The online posting refers to an incident when an apparently tipsy Allen clashed with John at the GQ Men of the Year awards ceremony, which the pair co-presented on Sept. 2.
As Allen, 23, introduced a segment as a "very special point in the evening," John, 61, said, "What, you are going to have another drink?"

Elton John and Lily Allen Clash at Awards Show

A visibly tipsy Lily Allen got into a profanity-laced verbal spat with Elton John onstage as the two hosted the GQ Men of the Year Awards in London Tuesday night.
As Allen introduced a segment as a "very special point in the evening," according to the The Times of London, John questioned: "What, you are going to have another drink?"
In front of an audience that included Gordon Ramsay, producer Mark Ronson (brother of Samantha) and London mayor Boris Johnson, the 23-year-old pop star shot back, "F--- off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you. I have my whole life ahead of me." To which the 61-year-old John replied, "I could still snort you under the table."
Allen followed the exchange with a crude ad lib when 82-year-old Tony Bennett was presented with the night's Inspiration Award. As John introduced Bennett, pointing out his age, Allen broke in, declaring: "I'll still [have sex with] him."

Lily Allen Blames Record Company for Album Delay

Anxious for the release of Lily Allen's second album? Well, so is she!
The singer – whose first CD, Alright, Still, was released in 2006 and produced the breakout hit "Smile – took to her blog recently to vent about her record label, EMI.
"The album – it has been finished for a while now," she wrote on her MySpace page. "I don't really know what is going on with it. The record industry is a very political place at the moment."

Lily Allen Is ‘Scared’ of Her New Sound

A usually cheeky Lily Allen showed her less confident side recently in Los Angeles when talking about her skills as a musician.
“I left school at 15. I’m not a genius songwriter. I don’t think I’m really good at anything,” Allen told the U.K. version of Rolling Stone, adding that she feels that she “got away with something.”
Fears aside, Allen’s sophomore album is nearing the wrapping stages and it’s going to make listeners feel "naughty."

Lily Allen Paps Back at Paparazzi

Pursued by the paparazzi, Lily Allen turned the other cheek – and fired off some pictures of her own.
"Seriously I have never been followed like we were [Tuesday], there were literally 20 cars of razzi with us," writes Allen on her MySpace blog.
Allen, who picked up the pack in L.A. after her recent news-making dinner with Lindsay Lohan and pal Samantha Ronson, then turned the camera on the photogs and posted pictures of her followers on the blog.

First up, a stop by her recording studio, then on to lunch at the Village Gourmet Cheese and Wine Shop, followed by some shopping at Flounce in Echo Park. Allen picked up a "lovely dress" at the store – and blogged about the whole experience, describing being followed by a fleet of paparazzi. But she wasn't complaining. "They were perfectly pleasant," she writes, adding, "In fact we had a bit of a laugh with them and I quite fancied one of them."

British "Smile" singer – who has been making headlines for her hard partying – has flown to the U.S. to write and record songs for her new album, she reveals on her MySpace blog.
"It's been almost a year since I was last in America and I can't wait," she writes. "Hello America, it's nice to be back."

Lily Allen Calls Drunken Behavior 'Embarrassing'

Lily Allen is expressing remorse for a drunken night that required her brother help her home.
In a blog entry on her official MySpace page posted Wednesday, Allen, 23, says she feels "awful" for being "very drunk" at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London.
"Last time I wrote here, I was defending my honor and dignity, explaining my innocence and also outrage at the press for insinuating my behavior was embarrassing," she wrote, referring to being criticized for topless photos. "This time I'm putting my hands up, I got very drunk last night, too drunk. It's not cool getting that drunk."
