Dina Lohan: Lindsay Is No Jewel Thief

Forget the missing London jewels for a moment: Lindsay Lohan's mom worries her daughter has been robbed of her peace of mind.
"Last month her personal cell was posted online and now her phone messages have been hacked," Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE. "This must stop. She is a 22-year-old girl who needs to live her life in peace. The tabloids need to leave her alone with all the lies and reporting with no proof."
Specifically, Dina says any suggestion her daughter is involved in the theft of jewelry during a recent photo shoot for British Elle is "defamatory, false and unfair." Lindsay is one of some 20 people at the shoot who are being questioned by police and has never been called a suspect. What's more, "Elle made a public statement backing Lindsay," Dina says.

'Maniac' Behavior Leads to Final Lohan-Ronson Split

As her name again crops up in the news – this time over a Scotland Yard investigation into some $400,000 worth of missing Dior jewels after a British Elle photo shoot – Lindsay Lohan's terminally on-again, off-again relationship with Samantha Ronson has now hit an ultimate dead end, a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE.
As it is, the two never officially got back together. And now, after Lohan's most recent round of partying, they aren't even friends.
"Sam let Lindsay back into her life as a friend, but now even a friendship seems impossible," says the source. "No matter how many times she promises to change, Lindsay loses control and starts acting like a maniac."

She may have been the last one seen wearing them, but did Lindsay Lohan steal $400,000 worth of Dior jewels from her Elle photoshoot?
Under investigation by Scotland Yard, the disappearance of a set of diamond earrings and a necklace was reported on June 8. The baubles were on loan for a June 6 magazine shoot.
"We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's rep tells PEOPLE. "Hair, make up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."

Lindsay & Samantha: Back Together?

If anything can be read into a winking emoticon, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson may be a couple again – at least in Lohan's view.
"Leaving London but with my favorite favorite!!!" Lohan, 22, wrote on her Twitter page Monday as she and Ronson were photographed at a London airport terminal together awaiting a flight to Los Angeles.
Further fueling speculation, Lohan adds: "Great news to share!! Maybe .... ;)"

Lindsay Lohan's Producer: She'll Behave for New Movie

Trying to prove that she's not just a party girl or a tabloid queen, Lindsay Lohan has promised to be on her best behavior on the set of her new film The Other Side, according to the movie's producer.
"She said, 'I'm going to turn down a lot of other work right now. I really want to get serious.' She said, 'I'm committed. I'm not going to be late. I'm really, really excited about doing this and working with these other actors,' " producer Kent Harper tells PEOPLE. "So we're excited."
The independent fantasy comedy is expected to start shooting in October on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. It will costar Jason Lee, Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Alanis Morissette and Dave Matthews. Harper also stars in the film.

Video Reveals Would-Be Burglars at Lindsay Lohan's House

Lindsay Lohan was targeted by burglars, after all – but the mess inside her house still can't be blamed on them.
Two unidentified men, one wearing a baseball cap and a bandana over his face, attempted to break into the L.A. home Tuesday, according to security video, which captured their four-door gray station wagon parking in front just before 3 p.m.
"While the driver stayed inside, the passenger suspect stepped out of the vehicle, walked through a gate and entered the backyard of the residence," say police, who are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspects. "Investigators believed that the suspect tried to gain entry by using an unknown type tool to pry open a back window and door. After the unsuccessful attempt, the suspects drove off."

Lindsay Lohan Lands New Movie Role

Lindsay Lohan is heading back to the silver screen.
The actress hasn't starred in a major feature film since 2007's I Know Who Killed Me, (her 2008 movie Labor Pains went straight to cable). Now, she's been tapped to star in The Other Side, an the independent fantasy comedy costarring Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette.
"It's a wonderful cast and it's shooting on the East Coast, which we are excited about," Lohan's manager-mom Dina told PEOPLE Thursday, of the film, which is slated to start shooting in October on an island off the coast of Massachusetts.

Police Find Mess at Lindsay Lohan's House

Lindsay Lohan's housekeeping abilities have come under fire by no less a clean-up patrol than the Los Angeles Police.
On Tuesday, reports the Associated Press, officers responded to a 3 p.m. call from a security company that the burglar alarm went off at the star's Hollywood residence. There, officers reportedly discovered evidence of a potential break-in and what was termed a ransacking.
Only it wasn't a ransacking – just a typical mess in the house, police tell the AP.

Dina Lohan Defends Her Parenting Skills

Dina Lohan is slamming recent reports that question her parenting skills and claim that her 15-year-old daughter, Ali, is socializing instead of studying.
"Ali is in a home-schooling program. She has never been pulled out of school," Dina tells PEOPLE exclusively. "It's the same home-schooling program that Lindsay was in since the tenth grade. It's a wonderful program that many celebrities are enrolled in."
Defending her parenting skills, she says, "I am a single mom of four children, and I devote my life to my children."
As for the claims that Ali has been bitten by the partying bug, Dina says her daughter "is working, working hard. She's recording, and she's working on a fashion line. Ali has also been supporting her sister."
