Peta Murgatroyd Blogs: 'Maks and I Love Working Together!'
Originally posted 10/29/2012 05:00PM
Peta Murgatroyd is a former Dancing with the Stars champion, winning the coveted mirror-ball trophy in season 14 – only her second season on the series – with Donald Driver. The Australia native will be blogging for PEOPLE.com about competing with Gilles Marini in the current all-star season.
Our group "Gangnam Style" dance was the highlight for all of us last week. It was ridiculous. Maks [Chmerkovskiy] was in charge of most of it. We had two big group rehearsals, and for the rest of it, we worked around our schedules on our own time. We had to come up with the concepts, but Maks gave us the towel theme.

She's back!
Despite injuring her neck during rehearsals and being rushed to the hospital on Sunday, Dancing with the Stars contestant Melissa Rycroft returned to the ballroom to perform on Monday night.
And she danced a high-flying team freestyle routine despite having what she called a "herniated disc in my upper neck."
"I'm on a little medication right now," Rycroft said before the performance to Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe." "[But] I'm officially cleared to dance."

Dancing with the Stars: Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas Go Home
Originally posted 10/16/2012 09:15PM
On Monday night's Dancing with the Stars, Kelly Monaco cried tears of joy and relief after she completed a dramatic, high-scoring contemporary number with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Meanwhile, Karina Smirnoff shed tears of a different kind following her hip-hop routine with Apolo Ohno.
Smirnoff, who began crying immediately after the dance, apologized for a mid-performance slip and fall. While the judges praised Ohno for going on with the routine like a "true professional," the pair only earned 34.5 out of 40 points, placing them third from the bottom on the leader board.
At the end of Tuesday night's elimination, did Smirnoff and Ohno kiss the ballroom goodbye, leaving perennial low scorers Kirstie Alley and Bristol Palin safe yet again?
Not the case. Bristol and Mark are heading home.

Drew Lachey Blogs: All Good Things Must Come to an End
Originally posted 10/15/2012 10:05AM
Drew Lachey is a member of 98 Degrees and he starred on Broadway in Monty Python's Spamalot and Rent. He is the season 2 winner of Dancing with the Stars and a founder of Lachey Arts Music Theater Camp. Lachey has been blogging for PEOPLE.com about his return to the ballroom with pro Anna Trebunskaya for the DWTS all-stars season – though the pair were eliminated on Oct. 9.
Well, all good things must come to an end. This past Monday, Helio [Castroneves] and I were the victims of a double elimination. I wish I could say this came as a complete surprise, but that wouldn't be all together true.
I had already been in the bottom 2 in week one, and my judges' scores weren't as good as some of the other competitors. Even with those facts, I thought our cha-cha was good enough to keep us in the competition. Anna and I were the first couple to perform this week, and we scored a 24 with our dance that we performed to Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love."

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are so close, the Dancing with the Stars duo know exactly what the other looks for in a partner – off the dance floor.
"I'm all about true beauty," Chmerkovskiy, 32, says when asked what he finds attractive.
"You don't have to be all, you know ... heels and that's it. I'm good," he says. "Heels gave 70 percent of women a fighting chance."

Kirstie Alley: Maksim Chmerkovskiy 'Is a Special Guy'
Originally posted 10/03/2012 07:45PM
The chemistry between Kirstie Alley and her much younger Dancing with the Stars partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy has been apparent since the pair first shared a dance floor during season 12 of ABC's hit show.
Now, taking center stage once again for season 15's all-star competition, the unlikely comrades continue to entertain.
"ABC just needs more footage because there's not enough footage of us for the next 10,000 years," Chmerkovskiy, 32, recently told PEOPLE, jokingly.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy & Peta Murgatroyd: We Leave the Competition in the Ballroom
Originally posted 10/02/2012 12:55PM
They've been dating for months. But in the ballroom, Dancing with the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are rivals who have a job to do – and that means putting personal feelings aside and trying their best to win.
"It's great. It's healthy competition," Murgatroyd, 26, tells PEOPLE of squaring off against Chmerkovskiy in the current all-stars season, with her partner Gilles Marini. "I want to win again. He wants to win. But you know, I don't care about that. He doesn't care that I want to win. We all want to win!"
The key, she adds, is not to let the rivalry affect their downtime together.

Originally posted 08/17/2012 12:05PM
Hope Solo is making serious accusations in her new memoir about her season 13 Dancing with the Stars partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
"He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly," the Olympian, 31, writes in Solo: A Memoir of Hope.
"I thought that was just how it went – how dancers worked with each other," she continues. "But it kept getting worse. ... One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day."
