July 31, 2001, may not seem like a special date to many, but some Top 40 aficionados will remember it as the day Now That's What I Call Music 7 hit shelves and enlivened music lovers of all tastes with their favorite summer jams. Released just a few months before the arrival of the first iPod, this is the last Now album to find its home solely in the slot of Walkmans and CD players across the country.
Thirteen years later, we're up to Now 51 and can get any song we want on our smartphones, but that doesn't mean we should forget the pre-selected simplicity Now 7 brought to teen drivers, road trippers and daily commuters back in 2001. To celebrate this compilation's birthday, we checked up on each of the 19 artists that contributed to this mix of boy bands and pop queens.

According to author John Green, his acclaimed young-adult novel The Fault in Our Stars was intended as a revision of the classic cancer-story tropes of saintly sufferers and soft-lit deaths.
But there's one convention the upcoming film adaptation doesn't subvert – like many of their cinematic predecessors, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort spend their last months positively glowing.
It's yet another reminder that, in the movies, dying is often the best makeover.
In anticipation of the opening of the film adaptation of the book, here's a brief history of beautiful people in movies who left us too soon.

Mandy Moore and Minka Kelly are ladies who brunch.
Joined by another female friend, the pair stepped out for brunch at BLD in West Hollywood on Saturday.
"They were very low-key and sat in the center of the restaurant, pretty much unnoticed by fellow diners," an onlooker tells PEOPLE.
Both of the famous friends were dressed down – Moore wore her hair in a bun and a gray V-neck T-shirt, while Minka sported a cozy gray sweater with her hair down in waves – and "didn't have a stitch of makeup on," the source adds.
While deep in conversation, Moore sipped on iced tea while the table shared granola, fruit, sandwiches and salads.
