Mandy Moore wasn't sure she ever wanted to be married – until she met her now-husband Ryan Adams.

But before she fell for the fellow singer, "I didn't know if marriage was something that was super important to me," Moore, 25, tells Women's Health. When she finally decided to go through with it, "I didn't take the decision lightly. I ventured into it realistically. But life takes you places you wouldn't have expected. I'm really content with what was in the cards for me."

Mandy Moore 'Can't Wrap My Head Around' Being Married

Originally posted 05/26/2009 12:00PM

She's come a long way from her days belting out bubblegum hits like "Candy," touring with the Backstreet Boys and dating Wilmer Valderrama. But sometimes even Mandy Moore can't believe she's all grown-up!

"Marriage is such a mark of adulthood in my mind," Moore, 25, tells PEOPLE. "It still feels not entirely real. Things are wonderful, and there's such a peaceful settledness about it. But sometimes I can't wrap my head around it. It seems bizarre but really cool at the same time, like, 'Wow – I did that!' "

Moore married singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, 34, on March 10 in Savannah, Ga., in a top-secret, low-key ceremony that she calls "quirky and random."

Mandy Moore: I Love My Curves

There are many things Mandy Moore loves: her dog, Joni. Her husband, musician Ryan Adams. Her new album, Amanda Leigh. Peanut butter. One area on which she admittedly has mixed feelings? Her hips.

"I still have a love-hate relationship with them," Moore, 25, tells PEOPLE. "I'm not a swizzle stick – I'm not 14 anymore."

But the singer-actress, an accidental poster child for being beautiful the healthy way, says she has learned to embrace all her womanly curves – even those hips. While the 5'10" beauty tries to stay balanced by eating "colorful foods," getting acupuncture and exercising regularly, she doesn't get hung up on dieting.

Mandy Moore's Simple Wedding Has Tears, Romance

Forget the trappings of show business. All Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams needed for the perfect wedding were a tiny old brick church, a pastor they just met, a pair of silver bands and each other.

"She was thrilled to be getting married. She was giddy but not in a childish way. She was obviously so happy," Pastor Steve Schulte, who married the couple this week at Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Home for Boys on the outskirts of Savannah, Ga., tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The couple, who just got engaged last month, arranged for a last-minute ceremony, with one of their reps calling Schulte just the day before, saying a judge wasn't available and asking if the pastor could officiate. "I thought it was either somebody famous or somebody really bad," says Schulte, who agreed to the job, bringing along only a friend, wedding planner Chad Baker – and that was because they had another wedding event later in the day.

Who Needs Shoes? Not Mandy Moore!

Originally posted 10/07/2008 10:05AM

Mandy Moore is taking it all off for her friend Brett Dennen – or at least her shoes.

The actress just finished shooting the music video to Dennen's new single "Make You Crazy." Dennen, a guitarist from California, teamed with Afro-beat legend Femi Kuti for the song, which last week became the third-most added single across tastemaker stations, behind Ryan Adams's "Fix It" and The Killers' "Human."

The "Make You Crazy" video is about freeing oneself from constraints and being true to oneself. In it, Dennen plays a barefoot shoe-store clerk who is trying to help a difficult customer (Moore). After going through too many pairs, Moore decides she wants to follow Dennen's trend and strips off her own shoes.
