[BRIGHTCOVE "4040972055001" "" "" "auto"] Last's week's How to Get Away with Murder ended with a bombshell: Sam Keating's body has been discovered. Now, it's time for the fallout.
PEOPLE has exclusively obtained a clip from Thursday night's episode showing Sam's wife Annalise (Viola Davis) and his sister Hannah (Marcia Gay Harden) as they hear a knock on the door. On the other side stand policemen tasked with breaking the awful news.
Even from the first exchange, when an officer asks for "Ms. Keating," Annalise and Hannah are engaged in turf war: Whose house are they standing in? And who is the "real" Ms. Keating?

Is there any show more reliant on its final scene than How to Get Away with Murder?
"Best Christmas Ever" plodded along in typical HTGAWM fashion: We learned ever more about the darkness to which Annalise (Viola Davis) regularly succumbs, our plucky law students continued to lose the plot and we once again questioned just what it is that makes Frank (Charlie Weber) so deeply loyal to Annalise.
Finally, in the last 20 seconds of the episode, a jaw-dropping reveal guarantees we'll be tuning in next week.

To be allowed into Fifty Shades of Grey's infamous Red Room, it seems only right you'd have to beg for it.

Any How to Get Away with Murder episode that begins with Annalise Keating (SAG award winner Viola Davis) putting on her wig is bound to be full-throttle.
HTGAWM has made a point of showing its anti-heroine in various states of polish and rawness. The dynamic between Annalise's fundamentally broken internal life and her very together outside appearance – not to mention when those two collide violently – is largely what has made the show so intriguing. Thursday's winter premiere, "Hello Raskolnikov," was no exception.
The episode opened as Annalise braced herself for questioning about her husband Sam's murder. As we saw in the midseason finale, Annalise is well aware what happened – and, frankly, not that all that bothered about it. Like a skilled lawyer/liar (funny how those words sound so similar), she ingeniously deflected her interrogator's questions, emphasized Sam's infidelity and cruelty, denied any knowledge of the infamous d--- pic and capped off her sob story with a gnashing-of-teeth recollection of discovering her dead husband's body.
It's worth noting that the wig Annalise put on in the episode's opening moments was very suburban soccer mom. Whereas the first half of the season saw Annalise in a gloriously alpha female short crop, now it's all about softening the look, presenting the image of a spurned wife and a would-be mother (after all, it's not the first time Annalise has used her womb as an excuse). Well-played, show. Well-played, Annalise.

Marcia Gay Harden is no stranger to playing strong women. The Oscar winner has shared the screen with plenty of talented actresses, but going toe-to-toe with SAG winner Viola Davis certainly kept Harden guessing.
"You have to be on your game," she tells PEOPLE of pairing with the How to Get Away with Murder star, 49. "You have to be ready to go right away. If she's the quarterback, you've got to be ready to receive and then do a little dance of your own to make it exciting."

Marcia Gay Harden has decided to end her marriage.
After 15 years, the Oscar winning actress has filed for divorce from her husband, Thaddaeus Scheel, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"For the sake of the couple's three children, Harden would like to request that the family's privacy be respected at this time," the rep says in a statement.
"No further comments will be made on this matter, and we thank you for your understanding."

Football, apple picking, Halloween – fall is here, and you know who's excited? Everyone!
"It's one of my favorite seasons," Stanley Tucci told PEOPLE last weekend at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
In fact, a whole slew of celebrities are looking forward to the changing colors and cooler weather. "I like to come out [to the Hamptons] in the fall," Alec Baldwin shared, adding he particularly enjoys shopping for scarves this time of year.
But it's Marcia Gay Harden who sums the season up best. Because she has kids, the actress says autumn represents "color and pumpkins, and unfortunately candy! It's a season of smells and fireplaces. You play in the leaves … I think the things are quite nostalgic that we love to do."
