Most of the press surrounding Mumford & Sons's new record has been about the band progressing from their traditional acoustic arrangements to a more electric sound.
And while it wasn't exactly Dylan plugging in at Newport, the band did use their appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend to show off some of that electricity.

At first glance it looks like just another Mumford & Sons video – outdoor setting, blinding sunlight, rustic barn, earnest expressions and enthusiastic musicianship – but as you get a couple of seconds into the band's new video, "Hopeless Wanderer," you realize that's not actually the English quartet at all.
Jason Sudeikis, Ed Helms, Jason Bateman and Will Forte have stepped into the band's shoes and the result is comedy gold. There is so much to enjoy here: Forte's beard, Bateman's lip-syncing, Sudeikis' "intimate" singing technique – the video is definitely worth watching more than once.
It also shows just how down-to-earth Marcus Mumford and his pals are, as not every group would be willing to poke fun at themselves like this.

You just can't keep a good folk rocker down.
Mumford & Sons's bassist Ted Dwane returned to the stage in Somerset, England, Sunday night, for the first time since being hospitalized in early June for emergency surgery to remove a blood clot on the surface of his brain.
Before taking the stage Sunday, Dwane told the BBC that providing the final performance at this year's Glastonbury music festival had been dominating his thoughts.
"The last few weeks have been a bit weird and we had to cancel a couple of shows at the end of our last U.S. tour," he said backstage.

A blood clot on the brain of Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has forced the band to postpone three shows as his bandmates and scores of fans send him healing thoughts.
"Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment," reads a statement posted on the band's official website Tuesday.
"The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."
The health scare has forced the band to postpone three concert dates this week, in Dallas, The Woodlands, Texas, and New Orleans, according to the site, which adds, "we have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour."

After marrying in England last month, Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford stepped out as a couple for a charity event in London Thursday night.
The lead singer of Mumford & Sons, Mumford, 25, and Mulligan, 26, have kept their relationship fairly private, but were seen Thursday walking arm-in-arm into the ARK Gala Dinner at London's Kensington Palace.
The fundraising event raises money for children's charity partnerships.
It's not the only charity work Mulligan has done this week. She also put the Prada dress she wore to Monday's Met Gala on eBay, saying she'll donate all proceeds to Oxfam.

Is Carey Mulligan off the market again?
The actress, 24, who split from Shia LaBeouf in late October, has reportedly moved on to fellow Brit, Marcus Mumford, lead singer for Grammy-nominated folk band Mumford & Sons.
The couple have recently been spending time together at Mumford's London home and in Buckinghamshire, England, according to the Daily Mail. The pair also spent last week in the Orkney Islands.
Last month, Mulligan was spotted looking cozy with Mumford, 25, during his band's gig at St. Magnus Cathedral in the U.K.
"They were kissing and cuddling in public," an onlooker from the night tells PEOPLE. "They were clearly very fond of each other. They were very, very affectionate to one another."
