Mariah Carey, who recently wed Nick Cannon in a small ceremony in the Caribbean, says the pair plan to get married again.

"Instead of trying to be like, 'you're invited, but, shhh, don't tell anybody,' we're just going to have another [wedding] next year," Carey told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show Tuesday. "[Nick's] plan is to have one every year."

Those who attended the first beachside ceremony, she continues, were, "mainly people there to do my hair and help me with the dress." Both Carey and Cannon only brought along three friends each because, "we wanted to be on the beach and we didn’t want other people taking pictures," said Carey.

When Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey made their first public appearance as newlyweds on Thursday, the pair simply dazzled – almost as much as their wedding jewelry.

Carey, who attended TIME magazine's "100 Most Influential People in the World" gala with her new husband, showed off her impressive pink diamond sparkler from of Jacob & Co. jewelers. The ring, valued at a whopping $2.5 million, is 17 carats. The center stone alone is 10-carats – a little smaller than a dime.

"I wanted to do something extremely special, something that Mariah would really appreciate," Cannon told PEOPLE. "We got the pinkest stone we could find, surrounded by other diamonds."

Carey definitely approved. "It's so clear, you can see my finger through it," she said.

Is Mariah Carey's new video a case of art imitating life? Possibly. Since her surprise marriage to Nick Cannon, 27, last week, the singer, 39, has been keeping a low profile in Caribbean, but her video for her new single "Bye Bye," which costars Cannon, emerged Tuesday. The singer cozies up to her leading man (watch for the pool scene!), while cameras follow Carey on photo shoots, autograph signings, and celebrations with friends in this montage tribute to loved ones who have passed away. Carey even honors late singers Luther Vandross and Luciano Pavarotti.
