I have blogged about how to work out and how I got started, but the question everyone seems to ask me all the time is: How do you feel?

People expect me to tell them how different I feel – how losing the weight is like losing the weight of the world, and that I feel confident and sexy. The truth is, I do feel confident and I do feel sexy but I kinda always did.

You hear people on fad diets say, "I'm not even hungry" or "I don't even work out" – both are lies.

A few weeks after I started counting my calories, I knew it was time to get to the gym. I have done this many times. I know how to work out, get on the treadmill and run.

I am so thrilled to blog for PEOPLE.com about my weight loss!

A few years ago, this is the very place I spent 12 weeks blogging and trying to lose weight for a swimsuit photo! My favorite blog post then was "Calling In Fat."

In the end, I spent 12 weeks NOT losing weight in front of all the readers and NEVER doing a photo shoot!

That’s what make this time so much more rewarding. Here’s the deal: when I was writing that blog years ago I was trying to lose weight TO WEAR A BATHING SUIT IN A PHOTO. You may think that would be a great reason, but let me tell you: at 10 p.m. when you want chips, a silly blog will not stop you in your tracks. You have to lose weight for yourself, not for a man, not for a job and definitely not for a blog!

Marissa Jaret Winokur says she shed 60 lbs., but worries: Is that enough for show business?

"I definitely have moments where I'll go to an audition or a meeting and girls are just so much skinnier," she tells The Insider. "I'm still in Hollywood. I still will be considered a chubby actress."

Taking the show's Brooke Anderson on a tour of her closet, the actress, 39, also notes that she still keeps her old clothes "because I'm sure I'll gain [the weight] all back."

"I know it's horrible," she says, "but here's the thing ... My fear is, what do you do? I have jeans that fit me great and what if I gain it back? I need those jeans."

The bubbly star and PEOPLE blogger – whose newly svelte physique first caught the public's eye at a premiere on Monday – felt comfortable with her heavier appearance, but lost weight for the sake of her well-being.

"I will not be returning to The Talk this year," the actress tells PEOPLE.

Winokur joined the CBS daytime chat fest in September to do "Mom in the Street" segments twice a week. "But as the show evolved," she says, "there really wasn't room for my segments."

Though Winokur says, "I love my co-hosts and the crew at The Talk," she wants "to be more involved with what I'm working on," which includes developing her own cable show and plans to launch a clothing line later this year.

Marissa Jaret Winokur: I Had to Call in Fat

Originally posted 08/25/2009 01:35PM

We call in sick in life, so why can't we call in fat? That's the question Marissa Jaret Winokur asks in the new installment of her weekly PEOPLE.com weight-loss blog.

Here, the Dance Your Ass Off host, 36, dishes about why family time with her husband Judah and 1-year-old son Zev took priority over "me time" – and why there's nothing a great new pair of shoes can't fix.

Sorry I skipped out on my PEOPLE.com blog last week. I called in fat – I figured I had about 10 days saved up, so decided to use seven of them and take the whole week off! I saved three days for a long fat weekend in the fall with the family.

Seriously, don't you wish it worked that way? You could wake up one morning and start getting ready for work and then look in the mirror and say, "Forget it, I'm calling in fat." Or you're about to be heading out for a date and your jeans are too tight and instead of freaking out and putting on a pair of sweats, you could call the guy up and say, "Sorry, can't make the movies. I'm just too fat."
