Star Wars Cast: May the Force Be with Them, Today & Always

It's been a busy week for Star Wars fans. First, the cast of the new J.J. Abrams-led installment(s) was revealed. Next, fans were either frozen with waves of warm nostalgia (or carbonite) after seeing their favorite elder cast members nearly 40 years on – or they were thrilled by the possibilities that fresh blood could bring to the franchise. Things were fraught, to say the least.

Well, we're here to prey on your heightened emotions. Whether you're a scruffy-looking nerf-herder or the proud owner of a ship that can make the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs (FYI, that's a tricky one: Both of those things refer to the same character!), you'll surely be transported to a time long, long ago by these photos of the Star Wars cast posing with their younger selves.

When it comes to Star Wars movies, separating the facts from the rumors is harder than detangling Chewbacca's back after a bath.

But this time, the rumors were true: the original Star Wars lineup – including Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford – will reprise their roles in the upcoming Episode VII.

Notoriously secretive director J.J. Abrams has finally revealed the new (and, um, old) cast, a list of names that could cause a serious disturbance in the Force … or at least on Twitter.

Star Wars fans should cherish this 2½-minute blooper reel, which gives a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse into the classic film series.

The reel is a composite of takes from the original trilogy, discovered by Lucasfilm editor J.W. Rinzler while he was searching through the film archives in preparation for a new making-of collection, Wired reports. It was then screened at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.
