Be still, our beating teenage hearts – Zack Morris wasn't a real blond.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who starred as the teen dreamboat in the hit early '90s show Saved By the Bell, recently spilled several secrets from his days as the heartthrob of Bayside High during an appearance on The Tonight Show on Tuesday.
"My mother is from Indonesia. My mother is this tiny little Indonesian woman!" Gosselaar told host Jimmy Fallon. "People don't know this: Zack Morris is half-Asian. That's why the hair, the blond hair, was dyed for all those years."

It's been more than two decades since fans bid farewell to Saved by the Bell and TV's beloved gang of teenagers, but before Jimmy Fallon brought together some of the cast for a skit on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, PEOPLE had a Bayside reunion of our own.
In 2009, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez and Lark Voorhies gathered for the first time since Saved by the Bell went off the air, where they reminisced about the fashions (nice mullet, Slater!) and the friendships that have stood the test of time.

Finally, a high school reunion to care about.
Jimmy Fallon's been using the Tonight Show's stint in L.A. to reference classic West Coast television, and Wednesday night was no exception. He reunited the cast of Saved by the Bell – well, most of it, anyway – for a few shining moments.

The wait is almost over for Saved by the Bell fans. The hotly anticipated The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story is less than a month away and Lifetime has released its official poster exclusively to PEOPLE.

Hard-core Saved by the Bell fans have been waiting 20 years for this.
Lifetime has released the first glimpse from The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, but so far, there's nothing scandalous – the trailer depicts a normal group of teenagers dealing with hormones.
The clip shows the Elizabeth Berkley character (who played Jessie Spano) trying to de-escalate the competition between Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle) and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) for the attention of Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), while Dustin Diamond (Screech Powers) tries to keep up with the physical prowess of Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater). And all the while, the six teens ignore adult direction – pretty much your average high school dynamic.
Diamond's 2009 book, Behind the Bell told of less-PG activities, like drug use and sex, but Lifetime claims their story is unrelated to the tell-all, and is instead based on new interviews with those associated with the show.
