Meet the BEGOTs: These Actors Are Going for Gold at the BAFTAs

If an EGOT – the elusive combination of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony that only 11 individuals have ever claimed – is one of Hollywood's highest honors, then it stands to reason that a BEGOT (that's an EGOT plus a BAFTA, and yes we did just make it up) is an even more impressive accomplishment. It's one better, is it not?

By our count, a mere four people have ever completed a BEGOT, and shockingly, only two of them were Brits: Audrey Hepburn, John Gielgud, Mike Nichols and Whoopi Goldberg. Still, nearly every artist in Hollywood should aspire towards a BEGOT (once they hear about it, that is), and Sunday night's BAFTA Film Awards offer a number of artists the chance to check off the next box in the BEGOT checklist.

Below, see the five stars working on their BEGOTs at the 2014 BAFTAs. Only one of them is British, which just goes to show you that the BEGOTs belong to us all, guv'nah.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck: best friends – or frenemies?

The childhood pals jokingly infer the latter in this chuckle-inducing video that's a case study in one-upmanship.

The Oscar-winning duo are auctioning off a double date with themselves on Omaze.com to raise money for Affleck's Eastern Congo Initiative and Damon's water.org. The winner gets an all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles to see whether these two are really as insecure and bumbling as they seem here.

George Clooney, Jon Hamm Read Mean Tweets on Jimmy Kimmel Live

What do George Clooney, Matt Damon and Jon Hamm all have in common? No, not their status as PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive honorees – it's that Twitter is not their friend.

In his latest installment of Celebrities Read Mean Tweets, Jimmy Kimmel gathered Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jennifer Garner, Tom Hanks and other Monuments Men cast members to read messages from their less-than-positive Twitter followings. Insults include calling Clooney a "lumpy faced basterd" and referring to Rob Lowe as "skin cancer." Each star was dealt a blow to their psyche, none more so than Damon, who read a disparaging Tweet from frenemy Kimmel himself.

Liberace Lover to Spend 8 to 20 Years in Prison

Scott Thorson, Liberace's Former Lover, to Spend 8 to 20 Years in Prison

Originally posted 01/24/2014 11:10AM

A former lover of Liberace, who was the subject of the HBO film Behind the Candelabra, has been sentenced to eight to 20 years in a Nevada prison for failing another court-ordered drug test while on probation for burglary and identity theft convictions.

Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan sentenced Scott Thorson on Wednesday after a string of bad drug tests capped his failure to show up at a court-ordered treatment facility.

Flanagan originally suspended the prison sentence in July and gave Thorson a second chance in September after testing positive for methamphetamine, but he failed tests twice in October and again on Nov. 1. He was arrested Nov. 19 after violating an order to enter an inpatient treatment facility in Reno two weeks earlier, court records show.

Thorson, 54, whose real name is Jess Marlow, had admitted he was an addict but insisted he was determined to get sober when he tearfully appealed to the judge in September to spare him from prison.
