Turns out the iconic words of Friends' theme song prove true when it comes to real-life pals Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc.
It's been more than 20 years since the wildly popular show launched their careers, but now, with their own hit shows – on which they play somewhat similar characters – the former costars are cheering each other on as nominees for TV's highest honor.
In this week's issue, the two chatted with PEOPLE about fame, friendship, Friends and that on-screen hookup that just never happened.

Matt LeBlanc visited Conan Tuesday and mentioned that he'd once been invited to a polo match by the royal family. Though he admitted he knows nothing about polo, as he says, "[When] you get invited by the royals, you go."

Friends premiered more than 20 years ago and aired for a decade. But it still seems fresh today, says Matt LeBlanc – well, except for one little thing.
"The only thing that dates the show is when someone makes a phone call, you see them pull the antenna on the phone," the actor, 47, joked to PEOPLE Monday at the season 4 premiere of his current show, Episodes, in West Hollywood.
Aside from that? It holds up!
