What does a severed head found by the Hollywood sign have to do with Maya Rudolph?
The actress knows the dog that first discovered the gruesome evidence. In an interview this week on Conan, the Up All Night star told host Conan O'Brien that the dog belongs to a friend who has, since the incident, been going through a "really bizarre, horrific ordeal."
Golden retriever Ollie was exploring Runyon Canyon with his dog walker when he happened upon what appeared to be a toy. "He likes balls – soccer balls." Rudolph, 39, explains. "I think he's a digger. He was digging, and he came out all proud with this bag, and something fell out, and it was the head."

That's one way to pass time during a two-hour awards ceremony.
The ladies of Bridesmaids enjoyed Sunday night's Screen Actors Guild Awards one sip at a time with a game they invented that honors a filmmaker who's no stranger to winning the top prize: Martin Scorsese.
Taking the stage with beverages in-hand to present their film, which was nominated in the outstanding cast category, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy explained the rules to their drinking game of choice.
"You have to take a drink every time, and I mean every time, you hear the word 'Scorsese,' " McCarthy explained, a mini bottle of Grey Goose in her hands."You'd be surprised how much that comes up in just casual conversation because people like to throw that thing around."

She plays a bride in the new comedy Bridesmaids, but in real life Maya Rudolph has more experience as a bridesmaid – for a very unlucky bride-to-be.
"My girlfriend was getting married and we were all about to go to Mexico," says Rudolph, 38, who costars in the new comedy with Kristen Wiig. "We had this whole trip planned; we all put money in for the place, the airplane, everything."
"My girlfriend got so sick that she was on antibiotics and was instructed not to fly. The bride couldn't fly. Everything was paid for, so we all had to go. So we all went without her. It was kind of pathetic and sad."

In her new movie Away We Go, Maya Rudolph wears a fake tummy bump to act out the anxieties of being pregnant.
But life imitated art Monday night as she walked the red carpet at the movie's Manhattan premiere, where Rudolph, 36, wore a flowing Yigal Azrouël dress with a thin belt that accentuated her very real bump. Due "around November," according to her rep, Rudolph told PEOPLE that getting decked out for a red carpet these days is "not fun."
"I do my best. This is super dressed up," she said. Indicating her gown, she asked, "Isn't it beautiful?"
