How is Melissa Etheridge going to celebrate the Supreme Court's gay rights decisions?
With a wedding!
The singer announced Wednesday that she is "getting fully, completely and legally married" this year to "my true love of over three years," producer Linda Wallem.
"I look forward to exercising my American civil liberties," she wrote on Twitter after the high court both struck down a provision of the Defense of Marriage Act and let stand earlier rulings that California's Proposition 8 was unconstitutional.

Breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge says she doesn't agree with Angelina Jolie's recent decision to undergo a preventive double mastectomy after discovering she had the BRCA gene mutation that often leads to the disease.
In a new interview with Washington, D.C.-based LGBT newspaper the Washington Blade, the rocker reveals that she, too, has the same gene mutation, but calls Jolie's decision "not something I could believe in for myself."
"I wouldn’t call it the brave choice," Etheridge, 52, says. "I actually think it's the most fearful choice you can make when confronting anything with cancer. My belief is that cancer comes from inside you and so much of it has to do with the environment of your body. It's the stress that will turn that gene on or not."

Melissa Etheridge may have found new love with Linda Wallem, but her ex Tammy Etheridge doesn't seem to be so thrilled by the new relationship.
Sharing her side of the story in a lengthy post on her blog Tuesday, Tammy says she moved out of the marital home in Nov. 2009 but wasn't sure it was a permanent split. "One never even said one was breaking up with me," Tammy writes.
"I trusted there was no one else," she continues in a series of poetry-style stanzas. "I didn't know there was someone moving in as I was moving out."

Just what the doctor ordered.
Melissa Etheridge, who split bitterly with wife Tammy Etheridge a year ago, is now dating Nurse Jackie creator Linda Wallem.
"Melissa and Linda have been best friends for over 10 years," a pal tells PEOPLE, adding that Wallem served as Etheridge's "best man" at her 2003 wedding to Tammy. "They got together three months after Melissa and Tammy broke up."

Melissa Etheridge's attorney may claim "[Tammy Lynn Michaels] is being completely supported by Melissa and has been since they separated," but Michaels is arguing otherwise.
"Pays all the bills not entirely true," Michaels writes on her blog. "Pays all the bills she chooses to pay [and] pays all the bills her people thinks are important enough to pay is more accurate."
Michaels, 35, says she's been left with no meal money by Etheridge, 49. "When I went to get cash just last week [to eat] ... not enough funds," she wrote.

Nearly six months after announcing her split from longtime love Tammy Lynn Michaels, Melissa Etheridge is ready to enter the dating world again.
"You gotta be fearless about these things," she told PEOPLE at Hard Rock's Pinktober Breast Cancer Awareness program launch this week.
The rocker, 49, has been choosing to focus on love instead of fear to get through the past year. "There is no fear when you choose love," she explained. "The more you choose love, the more love is in your life. It gets easier and easier."

In detailed new court papers, Melissa Etheridge says she cherishes every moment she can spend with her kids between her tour dates this summer. So, she was shocked when she traveled to Boston on July 6 to see 3-year-old twins Johnnie Rose and Miller – only to be served with court papers from her ex instead.
"[She] used our children as pawns," the rocker, 49, says in court papers released Thursday in her increasingly bitter split with Tammy, 35.
In other papers released Thursday, Tammy revealed her finances as she continues to seek support from Etheridge.

Has Melissa Etheridge left her ex and their twins broke?
That’s what Tammy Etheridge’s attorney claimed in an L.A. courtroom on Monday – but Melissa’s lawyer says that’s not the case.
"[Tammy] is being completely supported by Melissa and has been since they separated," Melissa’s attorney Neal Hersh told PEOPLE after appearing at a hearing. "She’s being well-provided for and then some, as are the children, which are Melissa’s first priority."
The singer has been giving the former Tammy Lynn Michaels $2,000 a month and pays household bills including utilities and a car lease, the lawyer says.
Tammy’s attorney Steven Knowles acknowledges, "Melissa is paying various sundry expenses," but says that Tammy, 35, and their 3-year-old twins, Johnnie and Miller, are "destitute." Knowles adds, "It doesn’t put money in her wallet. Literally she has no cash."

Are Melissa Etheridge and Tammy Lynn Michaels headed for a custody battle?
Almost a week after the singer filed legal documents to end their partnership, Michaels also went to court to file her own papers.
But while Etheridge, 49, requested joint custody of the couple's 3-year-old twins, Michaels, 35, is seeking full legal and physical custody, with visitation for Etheridge, documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court show. Michaels gave birth to son Miller and daughter Johnnie in 2006. She is also asking the court to grant her spousal support.
