Melissa Etheridge may have told Oprah Winfrey that her breakup with Tammy was "as mutual as those things can be," but the singer's former partner is now publicly disagreeing.
"I did not go anywhere, honey. And you and I both know it," the former Tammy Lynn Michaels, 35, wrote on her blog Thursday. She does not mention her ex by name, but refers to her "wife" in the post. "Please stop telling the press it was mutual."

Melissa and Tammy Etheridge have ended their nearly nine-year relationship, but there’s no drama behind the split – only sadness, a friend of the former couple tells PEOPLE.
"There’s no third party involved. They just drifted apart over time," says the friend. "There’s no animosity whatsoever – they are on friendly terms. "
Melissa, 48, and Tammy, 35, separated four or five months ago, says the pal, but continue to put their kids first.

Melissa Etheridge had one request to fans before her recent concert. "No stage rushing!" she said.
She wasn't being a diva – just playing it safe. After all, she was singing on a Delta airplane 10,000 feet in the air. Her performance – to help raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation – was part of Hard Rock's PINKTOBER initiative and a cause dear to the singer. She's now cancer free after being diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2004.
"My health is better now than it's ever been," Etheridge, 48, told PEOPLE mid-flight. "Cancer woke me up. It was a symptom of a body that needed attention."

It's music to one cancer foundation's ears: Melissa Etheridge has signed on to the board of directors of the Noreen Fraser Foundation, which raises funds for developing new prevention methods and non-toxic therapies to treat women's cancers.
It's a partnership that Etheridge, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, calls "a dream come true."
"I have been searching for an organization to lend my name and insight with the same beliefs, outlook and treatment practices to combat women's cancers as I do," Etheridge said in a statement. "I look forward to helping NFF achieve their goals."

No same-sex marriage, no more tax dollars from Melissa Etheridge.
That's the defiant stand taken by the 44-year-old singer in a new blog post on The Daily Beast following the passage of California's Proposition 8.
Etheridge declares that if she's not "allowed the same right [to marry] under the state constitution as any other citizen. ... I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes, because I am not a full citizen."
"Okay," she continues. "There is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California."
Etheridge opposed the ballot measure along with Brad Pitt, Mary J. Blige, Ellen DeGeneres, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Melissa Etheridge has a message about California's Proposition 8, which would ban same sex marriage: It's lame!
But those aren't her words – that's how the singer's 9-year-old son, Beckett, described it.
"He, being 9 years old and very proud of his reading skills, read 'Changes California Constitution to eliminate right of same sex couples to marry," wrote Etheridge in her blog on The Daily Beast. "He looked at me, very matter-of-factly and said, 'Wow, that's lame.' "
