Cats apparently aren't the only ones with nine lives.
Actress Melissa Gilbert saved a tiny rabbit from the clutches of her feline, and she plans to nurse the critter back to health.
"Rescued from the jaws of death," Gilbert, 49, wrote alongside an Instagram photo of the small animal, which she has named Hazel. Cuddling the bunny in another pic, she wrote, "Look what the cat brought in. Going to get her big and strong then release her in the garden."

Melissa Gilbert and Roshon Fegan were sent home from Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday's double elimination – and Gilbert, for one, is already dealing with the fallout.
"This is cake number three," Gilbert, who celebrated her 48th birthday on Tuesday, said when she was presented with a birthday cake on Good Morning America Wednesday morning. "And I'm not dancing anymore, so this is going right to my thighs."
Gilbert, who said she hadn't slept since the results were announced the night before, acknowledged that she and her coach, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were disappointed about the elimination, but said she was pleased with her performance this week.

There were some serious shakeups on the Dancing with the Stars leader board after the remaining six couples in the competition each completed two dances on Monday night.
One week after scoring a perfect 30, Maria Menounos and Derek Hough made a surprising appearance in second-to-last place. Meanwhile, Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower – who danced for their lives last week – climbed to second. But with only six points separating William Levy and Cheryl Burke in first place and Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy in last, it's really anyone's game.
At the end of Tuesday night's double elimination episode, which two couples were sent packing and which four will go on to next week's semi-finals? Read on to find out ...

There are six couples remaining on Dancing with the Stars – but not for long!
After Tuesday's elimination show (9 p.m. ET), only four semi-finalists will remain. Those odds aren't great but high-scoring couples like William Levy and Cheryl Burke, who delivered a perfect foxtrot on Monday, have a better chance.
Then again, low scores aren't necessarily an indication of elimination. Melissa Gilbert and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were at the bottom of the leaderboard last week but escaped the bottom two and the dreaded dance duel.
