Michael Douglas took in a game of blackjack on Monday night at the Tropicana in Las Vegas.

"He was just having fun and fooling around passing time with other guests," an onlooker told PEOPLE.

Douglas's spot at the table might have been for more than just fun. The 67-year-old actor is slated to appear in Last Vegas, an upcoming film about four best friends in their 60's who decide to forgo retirement and throw a bachelor party in Las Vegas instead.

One of the sunniest entertainers ever to come along, flamboyant pianist Wladziu Valentino Liberace – known simply as Liberace – may have had a dark side, but he kept it carefully concealed from his public.

That is bound to change next year when HBO airs the movie Behind the Candelabra, now filming with a cast-against-type Michael Douglas as the gilded showman and Matt Damon as his much-younger lover, Scott Thorson – who exposed his life with Lee in a tell-all book and also sued for $113 million in palimony.

"He thought his personal life was nobody's business," the real-life Thorson told PEOPLE in 1987, when Liberace, 67, died from AIDS.

Cameron Douglas Back in Court – as a Star Witness

It was a different role for the imprisoned Cameron Douglas: the prosecution's star witness in a drug-conspiracy trail of an accused dealer.

The scene was Manhattan Federal Court on Tuesday, as the troubled son of Michael Douglas and grandson of Kirk Douglas identified defendant David Escalera as the dealer who in clandestine meetings at gas stations, restaurants supplied Cameron, 32, with cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin, reports New York's Daily News.

Scruffy- looking in court, where he testified for four hours, Cameron, who is currently serving a five-year sentence for dealing methamphetamine, sported blue prison-issued pants and matching smock over a black T-shirt. He mumbled, shook on the stand and told stories of his own drug-dealing past.
