Calling jail too "harsh" for a "young lady like Lindsay," Michael expressed his faith that his daughter will get her act together. "When she puts her mind to something, she can do anything in the world," he said.

Dina Lohan: Lindsay Is Not a Bad Influence on Her Sister
Originally posted 04/23/2010 04:00PM
Dina Lohan is furious that her ex-husband Michael brought the Los Angeles Country Sheriff's Department to daughter Lindsay's apartment Thursday – and disputes his claim that the starlet is a bad influence on her younger sister, Ali.
"They scared the hell out of my girls," Dina tells PEOPLE. "Ali called me hysterically crying. They were hysterical and petrified of him. I spoke to the [police officer] and said, 'You don’t have a warrant, get out!'
Michael says he called the cops to perform a "welfare check" on daughter Ali, 16, because he was concerned about her safety. "Ali is being exposed to nightlife and the people Lindsay is surrounding herself with," he told Hollyscoop at the time. She's 16 and she doesn't belong there. She's a minor."
But Dina says Ali and Lindsay, 23, are perfectly safe.

Michael Lohan Brings Cops to Lindsay's House
Originally posted 04/22/2010 04:30PM
Michael Lohan paid a visit to daughter Lindsay Lohan's house in L.A. Thursday – and he wasn't alone: He brought the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to check on his younger daughter, Ali, 16, who is staying with her sister.
After officers inspected the house and interviewed Ali, they left her with her older sister.
"I went to the police department concerned about Ali's welfare," Michael Lohan told Hollyscoop.com. "I wanted to check on Ali. I want to make sure she's okay. She's 16 and she doesn't belong there. She's a minor."
Of the incident, Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says: "Michael Lohan called the West Hollywood Sheriff’s and was concerned about the welfare of his [teen] daughter who was with Lindsay Lohan – I don’t know if they were living together. Sheriff’s deputies went out to Lindsay Lohan’s apartment and were given access by Lindsay Lohan and determined that for the [teen] as well as for Lindsay, there was no danger at all. A report was taken and that was it.
Michael told TMZ.com that once inside Lindsay’s apartment, he spoke to his daughter, Ali, who told him "I'm fine, daddy, I'm fine."
The visit was definitely not welcome by Lindsay, who Tweeted, "I have no choice but to make this public, due to my sister's safety, as well as my own. My ex-dad just WALKED INTO MY APT like the devil's advocate with officers."

Lindsay's Wild Week: Partying – and Two Near Run-ins with Samantha Ronson
Originally posted 02/26/2010 07:30AM
Lindsay Lohan recently declared she is healthy and happier and has put her substance-abuse problems behind her – but her recent behavior may suggest otherwise.
After trips to London and Atlantic City, N.J., Lohan, 23, is back in Los Angeles, where she has been out late for three consecutive nights.
On Tuesday, the starlet arrived at Bardot Hollywood after 1 a.m., where her ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, 32, was deejaying. According to a source, Ronson asked security to stay by her side until Lohan left the club. "She wouldn't leave, and at the end of the night, you could tell she was waiting for Sam," the source says, noting that Lohan texted her ex, who ignored the message.
"They never talked at all, though, and Sam was definitely avoiding [her]," the source says.

Lindsay Lohan's Dad Says God Is Punishing Her
Originally posted 11/06/2009 11:25AM
The ugly war of words between Michael and Lindsay Lohan shows no signs of cooling off. Michael has released another audio tape, accusing his daughter of lying – and wasting her God-given talent.
On Thursday, Lindsay claimed on her Twitter page that Michael used to threaten to kill his then-wife Dina, Lindsay's mother, if she left him. Michael responded with a denial in an interview with New York Post Friday.
"That's a lie," he says. "I guess Lindsay is on more drugs than I thought to say something like that … No wonder why God is taking her entire career away from her. Because she's forsaken everything He's given her and she's done nothing but misuse all the gifts she's given."
