Rosie O'Donnell Says Not Calling 911 During Heart Attack Was the 'Stupidest Decision'

Rosie O'Donnell could have died when she suffered a heart attack earlier this year, and she now says that deciding not to call 911 was a nearly fatal choice.
"I said to Michelle, 'I think this could be a heart attack,' " O'Donnell, 50, says, referring to her wife Michelle Rounds, on the The Dr. Oz Show airing Thursday. "She says, 'I'm going get you some aspirin.' By chance, three days before, [Michelle] had purchased Bayer Women's Aspirin. I chewed them, and then I fell asleep. But then I did not call 911, and I should have."
O'Donnell says she later learned that women often don't reach out for help during a heart attack. "Fifty percent of women, while having heart attacks and suspecting they're having heart attacks, do not call 911," she says. "It was the stupidest decision I ever made in my life."

Congratulations – and surprise! – Rosie O'Donnell is married.
O'Donnell, 50, who recently suffered a heart attack, moved up her planned wedding to fianceé Michelle Rounds after Rounds was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a rare disease that only affects three out of every million people.
The couple, who announced their engagement in Dec. 2011, exchanged vows on June 9 in a private ceremony in New York, O'Donnell's rep Cindi Berger tells PEOPLE exclusively. "They got married but they haven't had the wedding celebration."
The two originally planned to be married in August, but they choose to get married quietly in June before Rounds's first surgery on June 14.

Oprah Winfrey's cancelation of Rosie O'Donnell's OWN Network show last week didn't rain on the parade of O'Donnell's 50th birthday bash. If anything, it provided reason to amp up Monday night's celebrating.
Arriving with her fiancée Michelle Rounds at the Paris Club's sexy upstairs lounge Studio Paris in Chicago – festooned in yellows and blues with lots of chandeliers – the birthday girl kicked things off by addressing her show's recent demise and encouraging her production team and other attendees to have a great time.

Rosie O'Donnell and fiancée Michelle Rounds cozied up over the weekend in Miami, where the TV host-comedian has a house. The couple enjoyed a date night at Japanese restaurant Zuma, and O'Donnell later took to Twitter to proclaim how delicious her evening really was.
"The food was out of this world – and we had a blast – date night rocks," O'Donnell Tweeted after their meal together.
On the menu for the two, who were secretly engaged earlier this fall: Alaskan king crab, pork belly skewers and Wagyu beef. For dessert, they ordered a yuzu keylime pie.
"They looked so cute together, talking and laughing," a source tells us, adding that the couple "radiated happiness."
Adds the source: "And Michelle's ring is beautiful."
