It has everything a scary movie should have: a small-town citizenry possessed by outside forces, aliens on the prowl and realistic-looking old film footage to vouch for its authenticity. But is The Fourth Kind everything it claims to be?
In the new movie, which opened last weekend, Milla Jovovich plays a psychologist named Dr. Abigail Taylor who investigates a series of disappearances in Nome, Alaska. Marketed as a fact-based thriller, The Fourth Kind uses a documentary-reenactment approach to explore a series of unsolved disappearances in the Alaska town. One possible explanation? Alien abduction.
But just what is fact and what is fiction?

Milla Jovovich Exchanges Vows at Sunset

Milla Jovovich married director Paul W.S. Anderson in an intimate outdoor ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The bride, 33, wore a long dress from Temperley London's Bridal Collection as she walked down the aisle in the backyard of the couple's Spanish-style house, decorated with red and white floral arrangements.
The couple exchanged matching 18-karat Neil Lane classic gold wedding bands (photo below and more on the rings here), to go with Jovovich's 19th century vintage gold engagement ring with colored pink, yellow and white diamonds.

Milla Jovovich Set to Wed Saturday

Milla Jovovich and her fiancé, director Paul Anderson, are getting ready to tie the knot this Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed.
The couple, who are parents to daughter Ever Gabo, 20 months, have invited about 50 guests to a sunset ceremony at their Los Angeles-area home.
"It's going to be small," Jovovich recently told PEOPLE. "It's just going to be family and close friends. And it's at our home and it's going to be kind of Havana/Cuban, like very California-Spanish feeling. It's going to be nice."
As for the wedding attire? The bride, 33, told PEOPLE she's wearing a gown she designed herself and describes it as a "1960's mini-dress."

Having revealed her and film director Paul Anderson's wedding date of Aug. 22, Milla Jovovich has now owned up to one of her attractions to her fiancé: his Newcastle, England, background and that town's favorite dish: fried fish and French fries.
"I'm marrying a Geordie!" the former model, referring to the name applied to Newcastle locals, triumphantly told Britain's GMTV Friday. "I love Newcastle, we have so much fun there. I love going up to Lindisfarne and Lumley Castle – and having fish 'n' chips."

Congratulations are in order for Milla Jovovich, who confirmed to PEOPLE Wednesday that she and fiancé, director Paul Anderson, will tie the knot Aug. 22 at their Hollywood home.
"We're getting married in two weeks!" she gushed at the premiere of her latest thriller A Perfect Getaway, which costars Steve Zahn and Timothy Olyphant and hits theatres nationwide Friday. "So, that's just one more kind of layer on my proverbial cake."

Milla Jovovich Recalls 72-Hour Labor as Daughter Turns 1

As her daughter Ever turns 1, Milla Jovovich reveals that her child birth over Halloween was exceptionally difficult.
"I was in labor for 72 hours," Jovovich tells PEOPLE at the Spike TV's Scream 2008, in Hollywood over the weekend. "I was up for 48 hours, for two nights. I started Halloween night. By the time I went into the hospital, it was the night of November 2. I finally went into the hospital and had the epidural."
Despite the ghoulish lack of rest, Jovovich, 32, says when Ever Gabo Anderson arrived, "all I wanted to do was just show her who her mom is, and talk to her."
And now, comes the fun of planning baby's first birthday!

Milla Jovovich Explains Her Baby's Name

Milla Jovovich performed a little linguistic juggling act to come up with her newborn daughter Ever Gabo's unusual name.
The actress, designer and model and her filmmaker fiancé Paul Anderson, who welcomed the baby on Nov. 3, combined their family histories to settle on the name, she writes on her blog.
"The name Ever is a Scottish boy's name," Jovovich explains. "Paul has Scottish blood in him (not to mention two tartans in his family!) so we wanted to give her a name that reflected her 'Celtic' roots."
