Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Eric Church Lead CMT Nominations
Originally posted 05/06/2013 12:00PM
It's quite the power trio at the head of this year's nominations for the CMT Music Awards.
Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan and Eric Church each picked up four nominations Monday, PEOPLE can reveal exclusively. They are followed by country veterans Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts, as well as first-time nominees Florida Georgia Line, with three nominations each.
Carrie Underwood, who led last year's nominations with five (and won video of the year), has two nods this year. She is joined by Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Tim McGraw, Hunter Hayes, Jana Kramer, Kacey Musgraves, Little Big Town and the rock group Journey.

Reese Witherspoon & Miranda Lambert Sport Two Very Different Hats & More From the Weekend
Originally posted 05/06/2013 06:00AM
The most-coveted accessory this weekend? A hat, hands down. But in close second: a wet nap or some rawhide, depending on whether you were partying with Mama June or Kevin Spacey.
5. If the Hat Fits ...
Dear Princess Beatrice, we've spent precisely two years and six days thinking about that fascinator you wore to the royal wedding. Good news: We think we're finally ready to move on from all that pretzel-like, bow-ish goodness, and we have Miranda Lambert to thank. The Southern belle-worthy hat she wore to Saturday's Kentucky Derby in a nod to tradition ruined our college baseball caps forever, while Coco Rocha left us wondering what would happen if we showed up to work wearing orchids on our heads.
(Girls, we tip our hats to you)

Miranda Lambert's Girls Night Out – Derby Style
Originally posted 05/04/2013 12:45PM
Country gal Miranda Lambert got into the Kentucky Derby spirit Friday night – with a little help from her girlfriends.
"The House That Built Me" singer, 29, danced, drank, pumped her fists in the air and eventually performed at the annual black-tie Barnstable Brown Gala event, hosted by Grey Goose, held at a mansion near Churchill Downs on Derby Eve.
The Texas native and animal lover was dressed like a southern belle – complete with a peach fascinator perched on her head – hung out at a table flanked by four girlfriends and looked like she was having a blast during the other performances.
She rocked out when fellow country star Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry took the stage, pumping her fists in the air when he performed the "My Town." Later, she swayed back and forth and sang along to "My Girl" during Smokey Robinson's performance. (Hubby Blake Shelton was nowhere to be seen, but perhaps he was prepping for The Voice live shows that kick off Monday.)

Somehow finding time between coaching on The Voice, touring and being married to Miranda Lambert, on March 27 Blake Shelton headed to the celebrated Electric Lady Studios in New York City, where he joined the likes of John Lennon, Elvis and Bob Dylan – by performing a special live recording of his own songs.
All spring, Shelton, 36, has been busy keeping up with his gigs and promoting his new album, Based on a True Story, but he's not one to complain about his schedule.

Miranda Lambert: Blake 'Is Used To' Me Bringing Home Strays
Originally posted 04/16/2013 10:20AM
Between her ever-expanding trophy collection and menagerie of mutts, Miranda Lambert has a full house – and both she and husband Blake Shelton prefer it that way.
"He's used to it now," Lambert, 29, tells PEOPLE about how Shelton has learned to accept her penchant for taking in stray animals, though she admits, "At first I think he was like, 'What's going on? We have a zoo.' "
Case in point: Last month, after bringing home a dog she found by the side of the highway, the country star named him Pistol Andy (in honor of her girl group the Pistol Annies) and attempted to find him a home. And she did – kind of.

Jason Aldean: I Wouldn't Want to Be a Reality TV Judge
Originally posted 04/08/2013 05:30PM
Though his fellow country artists act as judges on reality TV, Jason Aldean's favorite kind of party is on an actual stage – not a sound stage.
"I never say never, but I just know doing that stuff takes away from being able to go out and play our shows," Aldean, named male vocalist of the year at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, tells PEOPLE. "For me, if I'm not out on the road playing in front of people then I would be miserable."
That said, the singer, who's currently in the middle of his Night Train tour, doesn't hold it against his buddies Blake Shelton and Keith Urban for what they do on The Voice and American Idol.

Miranda Lambert Cries, Says Her Pick to Win Was Carrie Underwood!

For Miranda Lambert, being Sunday night's big winner at the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards caused her a major attitude adjustment.
Besides, she admits, she was really rooting for somebody else.
"I'm a pessimist," Lambert, 29, told PEOPLE after the show, "so I'm always like, when is the other shoe going to drop? It's over – my primetime is done. But your peers vote for you and believe in you, especially as a songwriter."

Blake Shelton Has Pre-ACM Awards Run-In with Four Naked Women
Originally posted 04/07/2013 10:15PM
You might say Blake Shelton had plenty to sing about when he found himself in the presense of four naked ladies: Sheryl Crow, the Pistol Annies's Ashley Monroe, Angaleena Presley and, of course, wife Miranda Lambert.
In Sin City for Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, the show's co-host had quite the opportunity to indulge his, um, sinful side.
"The first night we got to Vegas, me and Sheryl Crow and Miranda and Angeleena went to Miranda and Blake's room and had a spray-tan party, so all of us were naked," Monroe, 26, told PEOPLE on the pre-ceremony red carpet. "We made Blake go upstairs and close his eyes."

Luke Bryan Advised by Country Superstars: Stay On Your Toes as ACM Cohost
Originally posted 04/07/2013 10:00AM
None of country music's biggest stars doubt that Luke Bryan will do well as co-host, with Blake Shelton of this Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards, but that doesn't mean they aren't concerned about him.
"I think Luke is nervous, and he should be," Miranda Lambert told PEOPLE Friday. "Not because he won't do great. It's because my husband [Blake] is a loose cannon and he never goes by prompter and I never know what he's going to say or do."
For Shelton, hosting country music's annual showcase is old hat, having done it twice before. But Bryan is a rookie.
