Mischa Barton Splits With Rocker Boyfriend

Mischa Barton and her rocker boyfriend Taylor Locke have broken up, a rep for Locke's band confirms to PEOPLE.
"They broke up recently," a source adds. "It just didn't work out."
Barton, 22, has been linked with Locke, the guitarist for Rooney, since the winter. Since they began dating, the former O.C. star has cheered on her beau from the audience and backstage at his band's gigs. In April, Barton traveled to Ireland, following Locke on tour through Europe.
The couple was most recently spotted out in August, taking in jazz night at the Green Door, a Hollywood lounge, where the duo "snuggled up on the couch with all their friends."

Mischa Barton: I Hate Drunk Drivers

At the tender age of 22, Mischa Barton has already been in love – twice. But she still hasn't found Mr. Right.
"I'm lucky to know you can have more than one soulmate in life," Barton says in the Sept., 20 anniversary issue of Marie Claire U.K.
"But, like a true actress, I'm always changing the way I feel about who I want to be. Nowadays, I feel I'm settling more into a woman and I'm understanding who I am."
In April, the former O.C. actress pleaded no contest to driving under the influence. She describes her December arrest as an "awful low."

Mischa Barton: DUI Was My 'Low Point'

Mischa Barton says she thought getting arrested for drunken driving was something that happened to another type of Hollywood celebrity, not her.
"That was a low point for me. I never, ever would have thought I would be arrested," she says in the August issue of Nylon of the December incident. "I was disappointed because it associated me with a group of girls that I would rather not be associated with."
Now living in Paris, the former O.C. star pleaded no contest to drunken driving in April and was sentenced to three years probation.
Still, the repentant 22-year-old doesn't plan on taking up the quiet, studious life of others her own age.
"I would want to go to college for the learning, but there's so much else that comes with that that I don't think I need anymore," she says. "I've been making my own money and living as an adult for far too long."

Mischa Barton Loves 'Hanging Out' in Paris

She may have popped over to see "some friends" in London, but Mischa Barton couldn't help gushing Wednesday night about her other life across the Channel, in Paris.
"I love the art and the museums. So far I have been hanging out, really – going to art exhibitions, lots of museums. I'll have my place there for about a year," the leggy, former O.C. star, 22, told PEOPLE at Pharrell Williams's launch of his clothing brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream footwear at Harvey Nichols – which was the favorite department store of Absolutely Fabulous's Patsy and Edina.
Barton liked what she saw there, too: Williams and his band N.E.R.D. "I am a fan," she said. "I like to have a feel of different performers, so I am curious to see."

Mischa Barton Sentenced to Probation in DUI Case

Mischa Barton was sentenced to three years of unsupervised probation
in a Beverly Hills courtroom Thursday in her DUI case.
The former O.C. star pleaded no contest to drunken driving in a plea deal reached with prosecutors and which will spare her jail time.
In addition, a marijuana possession charge against Barton was dropped (due to the small amount found, a source told to PEOPLE). Another charge of driving without a license was reduced to an infraction.
The actress did not attend the hearing. Her attorney, Anthony V. Salerno, was there on her behalf. "The DAs were very fair in handling this case," Salerno said outside the courtroom. "Mischa's glad the case has been resolved."
