It's All Dance and No Play for Missy Elliott

Originally posted 07/31/2008 06:20PM

Missy Elliott's a busy woman – her seventh album's coming out soon, and she's on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Thursday night – but she still thinks about settling down and having kids ... some day.

"I most definitely want kids, but I'll probably adopt kids," the 37-year-old tells PEOPLE. "I don't know if I can take that kind of pain [of labor]. Maybe in the year 2020 you could just pop a baby out and it'd be fine. But right now I'd rather just adopt."

On the MTV dance show, Elliott is set to perform her song "Shake Your Pom Pom," which she says will appear on the forthcoming Block Party, but confesses to having her own favorite team in the competition.

YANKED: Missy Elliott's street wear collection has been pulled from stores in Denmark because its logo was a bit too similar to that of the country's monarch, Queen Margrethe II, the Associated Press reports. The shoes, bags and shirts in the collection carry a logo that consist of a crown on top of the words "Respect" and Missy Elliott's initials "M.E." The queen's logo consists of a crown on top of the letters "M-2-R," with the "R" standing for the Latin word for queen, Regina. A spokesman for the line's manufacturer, Adidas, said the company agreed to remove the clothing from Danish stores, and that the similarity was a "surprise" coincidence.

PROMISED: Former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres, 28, says her current divorce proceedings with singer Marc Anthony will remain amicable. "We are both very responsible, that's all we want for our kids, and there's no need to do it any other way," she tells Access Hollywood. The couple married in May 2000 in Las Vegas, briefly separated, then renewed their vows in Puerto Rico in December 2002. They have two young children, Cristian and Ryan. Meanwhile, Anthony, 35, who has been seen with Jennifer Lopez, has postponed his summer tour, which was due to begin June 1 in San Juan. "Due to the delay in production of my two albums, I have chosen to postpone my Nada Personal tour until November," he said in a statement. "Instead, I will allocate the summer months to the promotion of my new CDs."

February 16, 2004 UNDER WRAPS Missy Elliott is a Grammy-winning artist, acclaimed producer and songwriter – even a budding reality-TV star – and although she dropped 70 lbs. recently, she isn't planning any Janet Jackson-type surprises. "I still don't have the kind of body to show it off the way lots of artists do," Elliott told us at a recent party at New York's Ace Gallery, kicking off MAC Cosmetics' Viva Glam V line. (Sales of the line, for which Elliott is a spokesperson along with Christina Aguilera, Linda Evangelista, Chloe Sevigny and Boy George, will benefit the company's AIDS fund.) "But if you got the body to do it, I guess it's cool," she added. "I don't pay attention to what (other artists) do, I just do me."
