Where would a former presidential candidate and a pint-sized reality star cross paths?
Vegas, baby!
With the campaign behind him, Mitt Romney has traded his focus on the ballot box for boxing. The former presidential hopeful sat ringside on Saturday night as Manny Pacquiao took on Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Diane Sawyer's Election Coverage Gets Noticed on Social Media
Originally posted 11/07/2012 10:00AM
Barack Obama supporters had plenty to toast to Tuesday night when the President claimed victory over Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
Also saying cheers to the end of a tight election season: Diane Sawyer?
Amid the nail-biting unveiling of the presidential election results, some viewers of ABC's news coverage were just as focused on host Sawyer, 66, wondering on social media if her political celebrating got the best of her. Her seemingly odd conduct was even chronicled by the Associated Press, which noted her slow speech and the way she seemed to hold out her arms to prop herself up as the election night results trickled in.

Barack Obama, who swept to historic victory in the U.S. presidential race four years ago, held on to his job Tuesday.
His victory came in a much more tightly contested election against Mitt Romney – earning four more years in the White House and vowing to usher in a brighter future for the country and its people, many of whom struggled mightily in his first term.
Addressing a crowd of supporters in Chicago, Obama said, "We know in our hearts that for the United States of America the best is yet to come."
Celebrities Are Getting Out the Vote (with YouTube and Humor, Of Course)

Have you voted? Leonardo DiCaprio wants to know.
With Election Day upon us, stars are flooding the Internet in an effort to get out the vote – urging all U.S. citizens to make their voices heard, regardless of whom or what they support.
Chief among the appeals is a new video from Vote4Stuff, a nonpartisan campaign led by DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire – who are joined by Jonah Hill, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Zac Efron, Benicio Del Toro and Selena Gomez, among others, in an amusing montage of civic pride (with a few amusing insults thrown in for good measure).

The stars of 30 Rock are getting political – at least in character.
In a new clip from the NBC hit, scheduled to air Wednesday, Tina Fey's Liz Lemon and Alec Baldwin's Jack Donaghy try to sway one undecided voter – Jane Krakowski's character, Jenna Maroney – to cast her vote for their candidate.
"Just one Tweet from you to your fans and [Mitt] Romney wins. It'll be historic. The first really, really rich president," says Baldwin, whose character is a staunch conservative.

Final Presidential Debate: Celebs Break Out Big Guns (and Horses and Bayonets) on Twitter
Originally posted 10/23/2012 11:00AM
To say Republican candidate Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama walked into Monday night's final showdown guns blazing may be up for debate.
Their weapon-of-choice, however, was a nod to simpler times (and we're not talking about words alone): Break out the horses and bayonets!
This 20th-century imagery is a stark contrast to the battlefield that is the Twittersphere, which lit up with 6.5 million Tweets about the debate, according to Twitter data. Among those firing up their opinions in 140 characters or less: troops and troops of celebs.
Relive the foreign policy-themed debate through their (fighting) words.

Cheers! Cocktail Recipes for Barack Obama and Mitt Romney
Originally posted 10/22/2012 05:00PM
Siding with the Democratic Party? Rooting for the Grand Old Party? In the interest of keeping our coverage nonpartisan, here's a nomination for a less-polarizing political affiliation altogether: the Cocktail Party.
As President Barack Obama and Republican candidate Mitt Romney prepare to face off in the final presidential debate Monday night, agree to disagree ... over which kind of beverage makes the perfect fuel for one last game of political ping-pong.
In the spirit of democracy, several choices await the politically active drinker: In the heart of Washington, D.C., Topaz Bar serves up two commander-in-chief-worthy concoctions less than a mile away from the White House itself. "As for inspiration, each drink was concocted as a fun and irreverent twist on each of their personalities and backgrounds," general manager Donte Johnson tells PEOPLE. (Fun fact: President Theodore Roosevelt once lived where the hotel bar now stands.)

Among those conversing in real-time with the candidates: plenty of celebrity voices, whose tones ranged from furious to funny.
Feathers were ruffled (just not Big Bird's this time), so let's revisit the night through the eyes of some of the people who aren't on the ballot this season.

Presidential Debate Winner: Big Bird (According to Twitter)
Originally posted 10/04/2012 11:45AM
During the first of three presidential debates Wednesday night, the hottest topic on social media wasn't the economy. It wasn't job creation. It wasn't even the word "trillion" – although that word got thrown around a lot.
It was the 8'2" yellow feathered Muppet, Big Bird.
While debating President Barack Obama, Republican candidate Mitt Romney said he would cut programs funded by borrowed dollars from China – PBS included. "I like PBS, I love Big Bird," Romney said, "but I'm not going to keep on spending money on things, to borrow money from China to pay for it."
The comment ignited a firestorm, with parody accounts for Big Bird and his fellow, presumed unemployed Sesame Street residents springing up immediately, and Twitter's best snarkologists – and celebrities – took to the social network to share their thoughts on the childhood icon's endangered status.
