Instagram has turned going old school into an art form with Throwback Thursday, better known as #TBT.
For those who aren't filter-savvy, to participate in Throwback Thursday Instagram users post old photos of themselves with the hashtag #TBT on – you guessed it – Thursday.
Out of the countless pictures already posted to the social network, 127 million shots are branded with #TBT, making it one of the most popular hashtags of 2013.
Luckily for us, celebrities love to revisit memories and indulge in a little #TBT. Millions of old photos were shared in 2013, but these celeb shots were the most popular Throwback Thursday Instagram posts of the year.

Look out, John Mayer. Despite her vows to the contrary, it seems Katy Perry went and got engaged to someone else – a One Direction singer, no less!
Well, not really, but Perry and Niall Horan joked this week that they got engaged after meeting up in Japan, with Horan posting an Instagram selfie of the pair looking quite cozy.
"She said yes! It's happening! Haha," wrote the 20-year-old Irishman.

A fed-up mom is making sure her testy daughter's One Direction concert tickets head in one direction: straight to eBay.
The livid parent has decided to auction off four tickets to the boy band's upcoming Sydney show on Oct. 25 in order to punish the youngster and her friends for what she deemed their "self-righteous" attitude after lying about a slew of illicit escapades.
And Mama sure didn't mince any words.

One Direction knows how to keep it cool.
The Brit boy band let loose before their show in Boston on Wednesday by jumping in a lake.
"Went swimming yesterday before the show in Boston. In a lake, in Boston," Harry Styles Tweeted.
The group's sound engineer David Martell even got in on the fun, sharing a photo of him swimming with Styles.

It's a three-way tie: Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and fun. are finalists in 11 categories for this year's Billboard Music Awards.
Rihanna, Carly Rae Jepsen and One Direction are up for 10, nine and eight trophies, respectively, Billboard also announced on Monday.
Swift, Maroon 5, Rihanna, One Direction and Justin Bieber will compete for the top artist award. Adele's 10-million-selling 2011 album, "21," won top Billboard 200 album last year and is up for the award this year. It will vie with Swift's "Red," Mumford & Sons' "Babel," as well as One Direction's albums – "Up All Night" and "Take Me Home" – both released last year.

Madam Tussauds in London opened it's 1D exhibit Thursday to eagerly awaiting fans, but Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan all got to "meet" their life-size wax counterparts secretly prior. Can you tell the real boybander from the wax counterpart?
The One Direction wax figures will stay in London or twelve weeks before being displayed in Madame Tussauds in New York and Sydney. And while you won't get to caress the cheeks of the real guys, maybe no one will tell the difference in your photos!

There's never a dull moment for One Direction!
It was a big night for the boy band on Wednesday, when the heartthrobs attended the BRIT Awards.
After performing their new single "One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)" to benefit Comic Relief – a new version of Blondie's hit song – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne made history when they were awarded with the BRIT Awards' first ever global success prize.

If you think it's been an emotionally crazy few years for the members of One Direction, imagine how their mothers feel.
"My mum just cries the whole time. My mum literally has not stopped crying for the past two and a half years," Liam Payne said Thursday on ITV's Daybreak show in Britain.
The boys may be world famous, but they insist their families are still their biggest fans.
